The problem is that most 19 year olds are not Dorial. NFL teams don't want to waste money on a bunch of guys who aren't ready; it's not fair to them, and let's be real: it's not fair to the players either. Most kids that young aren't ready mentally or physically for that shyt, and their career could be ruined by their youthful flaws. College is about more than just playing football for these guys. It's about preparing for the next level: physically, emotionally, mentally, etc.
One of my friends is a scout and he said there are plenty of college guys who could play in the NFL at 19, but most can't - and you can't just open the door to the Dorials while closing it to others
How is it not fair for the NFL?If you don't think the kid is ready for the NFL,just don't draft him. You're right in saying that every kid isn't Dorial, every 19 year old shouldn't be given that opportunity. However,if a 19 year old is so special that he is given a 1st/2nd round grade after one year he should be given the option to leave.
Let's be real for a second, there isn't a big difference between 19 and 21 year olds from a mental standpoint. If a kid is mentally able to handle getting his legs blown off in a Cave in Afghanistan,he can handle being in the NFL.
