so i guess players dont hit weights in college to get bigger and stronger and they don't get put on workout regimens with how they eat and recover. how silly of me to think that most players do come into college with NFL strength and speed and smarts :snoop:

Damn I hate it for dude. Even tho I'm an auburn fan he seems like a genuine good guy. I seriously think it's impossible to dislike him, I just hope he can heal up and make it.

2 different sports. It's much easier to transition to the NBA from college than the NFL.

Heck, Andrew Wiggins could probably play in the league right now.

You're probably right about Wiggins, but i'm not saying that kids should be able to jump from HS to the NFL.

For certain positions I agree. For example Offensive lineman aren't anywhere close to competing in the NFL after one year from a physical standpoint.Skill position players however would make the transition easily in my opinion. You don't need to be a physical freak to play WR in the NFL.Same can be said for defensive secondary positions.Everyone knew Eric Berry was a 1st round pick after his Freshman year, what did he gain from those extra two years at Tennessee? Being a skill position player is all about polishing your technique, not about physicality. Those kids should be able to leave after 1 year.

Kevin Smith was ruined at UCF (450 carries in his junior year),just like Lattimore looks like he's done at USC.Those kids made their universities millions with almost nothing to show for it

Some are.
Dorial Green Beckham is 6'6 220.Why isn't he allowed to go pro after 1 year? What NFL CB is looking forward to tackling that dude? He's physically ready to handle w/e the NFL can give him right now. That kid is a man at 19.

Jadeveon Clowney is a physical monster right now,why can't he leave??Why should he be forced to play another year in CFB,make his school money and hope he knees don't commit seppuku like Lattimores did? What incentive does he have to stay?

Is everyone ready to go the NFL at 19,no.There are exceptions though.

The problem is that most 19 year olds are not Dorial. NFL teams don't want to waste money on a bunch of guys who aren't ready; it's not fair to them, and let's be real: it's not fair to the players either. Most kids that young aren't ready mentally or physically for that shyt, and their career could be ruined by their youthful flaws. College is about more than just playing football for these guys. It's about preparing for the next level: physically, emotionally, mentally, etc.

One of my friends is a scout and he said there are plenty of college guys who could play in the NFL at 19, but most can't - and you can't just open the door to the Dorials while closing it to others

But you can't say that one position's allowed to leave and another isn't. It would create an imbalance of skill players.

all I say is that players should be given the choice to declare early. Thats all.

The NFL does a good job at informing players where they will be drafted before they make that final decision. Let these players have the choice to leave or stay.
