You sir are either a fukking idiot or are trollin something vicious. If you're as intelligent as you believe you are then you know that taking arguments to the extreme to try and prove a point only makes your argument seem baseless.

I really don't want to entertain this, but I'll do it anyway. The obvious and I mean GLARING difference in my argument and yours is that at the age of 18 you achieve adult independence. You can do things like, you know, go die for your country. But God forbid you want to play pro sports, GTFOH!

Did you just really compare an 18 yr old to a 14 yr old? You are out of your fukking mind!

Make it 16. Or 18 in some places. The point is the same. It's a privilege to play in the NFL. Your argument is based purely on anecdotal evidence.

This whole "kids can join the military" argument is bullshyt too. 18-19 year olds can join the Army because the demand is there. The demand for 19 year olds playing the NFL is next to nil.

If their really about the academic narrative they love to spit then tie that in somehow. Look at someone like Ponder or Rolle. They got their degrees in 2.5 yrs. if you're talented enough and you get that diploma then what's the use of staying? Any other profession (yes I know, horrible comparison) if you got your degree then you can start in that profession. Why should they stay just to meet some dumb ass eligibility requirement if the purpose of going to school is to get an "education". Can guarantee you this, the top flight athletes who know they're ready might actually put an effort in class to get out of there and get that paper

Well doesn't that prove they are full of shyt with this "student athlete" shyt they try to kick? Purpose of school is to get that degree and get further in life if you let the boys in Indianapolis tell it. Wouldn't a player getting his degree be enough of a reason to allow him to go out and make money any way he sees fit and not be bound to a silly ass 3 yr rule? And just to show I'm EO, the same should apply for baseball players.

Yeah that's not relevant to the point.

When there's a demand for a 20 year old Myron Rolle to enter the NFL, then 20 year olds will be allowed into the NFL. There is insufficient demand, therefore the rule stands.

Rex Ryan told Steve Spurrier that jadeveon clowney was a 1st Round Pick in March of this year.

And he can't even enter draft in 13!

What if he gets chopped blocked?

Give Underclassmen a Choice, than you can have the Clowney's and Lattimore not get pimped by the system and than show some of these knuckleheads how good they had it

So why aren't I seeing articles about how cats like Stefon Diggs and Jadeveon Clowney should be in the NFL? Because there's no demand.

And none of you cats have explained to me how Goodell is going to let 19 year olds into the NFL while still claiming in public that he cares about player safety. It can't be done.

the demand isnt there because there is no market. THere is no market because of the rules.

Diggs and Clowney are NFL players right now too.

And I am failing to see how a 19 year old playing in the NFL will start a clamor about player safety? If anything, 19 year olds getting injured in college football should raise concerns about player safety since they arent getting paid to do this.

props on you shifting your argument. The demand isnt there because of the rules.

Also, the NFL may not want to give out one more contract to these players. Same thing happened in the NBA.

if the NFL decided to open up the draft to anyone over the age of 19 in 2014, there would start being demand for these players.

it's football injuries happen :ld:
yall are acting like what happened to Lat was something that's never happened before. it's sad, it's fukked up and i hate that it happened but injuries are a part of the game. if they get injured and can't make the L than they pick another career. if you a 4.0 gpa but can't pass the MCat than you pick a career other than a Dr. it's life that's how it goes.

:what:

Rules get changed because of demand all the time. Honestly, I think you're making this argument because you wanna do what REALLY needs to happen. Nobody does because that would make the game less entertaining.
