but I never said floyd wouldnt be fighting maidana

You say Floyd has no other option but to fight Maidana, lets just see how it plays out. But come september if Floyd actually doesnt fight Maidana, what are you going to say then? because according to you, Maidana is the only option.

please believe you will get a quote from me if that is the case :sas2:

I'm still waiting on that quote. :sas1:

so please show me where I said the fight wouldnt happen @krackdagawd

after you do that, then please go back go homeboys quote and show me where he said anything about maidana not hitting floyd clean

after that, apologize to me for being an idiot

after that, kill yourself.

The original argument was with dude who said none of the punches landed with power or bothered Floyd.

I brought up the gif and the fact that Floyd is making him use gloves with 2 extra ounces of padding in the rematch.

You hopped in the conversation with your extra smedium cape on because you still butt hurt about nikkas sonning you in May around these parts.

Maidana won the first round on all 3 scorecards and he threw…100 punches that round. He threw just over 71 punches a round in the first fight. Maybe 100 punches is a little too much, but 85+ is very possible. And the more punches Maidana threw, the more competitive he was. The first 6 rounds of the fight, where Maidana had more energy, were a tossup. It's no coincidence that Maidana gave Floyd his toughest fight in a long time and threw more punches than anyone ever has against Floyd. If Maidana's stamina is improved and he throws more punches, then we're in for another close fight, regardless of how well Floyd moves.
I completely disagree breh...

Where was Floyd in those rounds? pinned on the ropes for 3 minutes...

A still target is easier to hit than a moving target...That's common sense and boxing 101...so once again, if Floyd keeps Maidana in the center of the ring like he did against Canelo there won't be no 50+ punches a round for Maidana...The question is did Floyd let this dude pin him like that to make the fight more interesting or has he lost his legs? Quite a few respected people in boxing feel the former applies more than the latter...That wasn't floyd's problem though, he underestimated Maidana's awkwardness and couldn't let his hands go hence why he looked like a punching bag those first three rounds...Maidana's jab was also surprisingly crisp...As the fight progressed you saw Floyd get loose and start to tag this dude effortlessly at times...I think in the rematch the same Floyd who fought Canelo is going to show up and put on a clinic like he was expected to do the first time around...

you can wait for that quote as long as you want fam :yeshrug: I never said the fight wouldnt happen.

I was keeping an open mind on the issue. In fact, in that saame quote, I said, "lets just see how it plays out"

but hey, I know you have no other legs to stand on so I'll let you harp on that one quote if it makes you feel better

Only thing Floyd-like you might have is your inability to read and comprehend, friend. :mjlol:

Rewatch the fight. I think you'll be surprised by how often Maidana was hitting Floyd in the center of the ring, and how often Floyd was standing in the center of the ring. Floyd wasn't against the ropes for 3 minutes every round for the first half. He was moving a lot for the first few rounds and Maidana still found him. And he was standing his ground a lot of the other rounds and Maidana still managed to throw a lot of punches. Floyd was on the ropes a lot, but it wasn't as much as you're saying.

And I do think Floyd thought he could pick Maidana off and tire him out against the ropes. He probably won't do that this time. But like I said, a good portion of the fight was fought in the middle of the ring and early on Maidana held his own. Staying off the ropes will help, but Maidana will still be there, throwing a ton of punches and pushing him. If Floyd just moves more, it'll stay a close fight, especially if Maidana doesn't tire.

Floyd has to stand his ground and pick Maidana apart. Floyd was throwing the harder, more accurate punches throughout the fight. If Floyd ramps up his punch output and leads like Paulie said, then it could turn into Canelo/Angulo, or Pac/Margarito. But that would take Floyd being more offensive minded than he's been in a while.

It's not as simple as you're making it seem.

lol, you guys are falling for the same old tricks.

During the 1st fight, Garcia said they trained to throw 100 punches and actually they did throw a lot of punches during the fight - so basically they are saying they are doing the same strategy...whether that's true remains to be seen but Floyd should undoubtedly have a counter to it.

I think Garcia questioned how well Ariza's methods worked out because of how much Maidana slowed down by the middle of the first fight. So they gave Ariza the :camby: and not think they have a better regimen in place to improve Maidana's stamina for the rematch.

When did Maidana tire in that fight, his stamina was always his weakness, and was obviously improved in his recent fights

Teddy Atlas even said he thought Maidana was on something because he kept the same pace the whole fight
