All Star
At the beginning of the volume makes me wonder are these flashbacks to the old Reiko simply Hajime's dreams? Well, the fact the past is haunting him is no surprise. Though the fact that the book has a connection to what happened to the old Reiko is really creepy. Just the mention that once again Hajime would have told Reiko, but she refused again. Though we also learn that the old Reiko wouldn't leave Kowloon, so perhaps this is where she differentiates herself more from her?
Though the idea of being robbed of the things, we already have. We learn about Yaomei's past and how her relationship with her mother robbed her of her personality. Hajime's past with Reiko makes it clear that he is nowhere near as happy as he was in the flashbacks. Yaomei really cares for Reiko because she can put the old Reiko behind, but refuses to do so. As that is what Yaomei has tried to do. The difference in how hard it can be to move on and Reiko doesn't have that burden. I do love how Reiko mentions Yaomei turning her lie into a truth. The core part that people will change in life. Yaomei wants to do that and Reiko understands that and wants to help push her. Although that is also why Reiko aims to learn about her past. Who she is and what she has done. Sometimes the mystery of what you have been doing is something you just want to know.
Miyuki & Tao's dynamic is turning much more interesting by the episode. It's clear that perhaps because of his father, Miyuki is pushing Tao away. At the same time, it's clear the expectations by his father are a burden and pushing Tao away was also protecting him. Very curious how these two proceed going forward.
Perhaps the most curious thing in this volume is how the mention of change in Kowloon.

Perhaps the most curious thing in this volume is how the mention of change in Kowloon.
- First thing was that Yaomei inside of her apartment was different then when she came out. Essentially, she accepted who she is now rather than the old Reiko. Could this be the one connection between the old and new Reiko?
- While in Reiko's apartment morning never came.
- It seems chi is a big factor and the bad part is the problem. More than likely, Gene Terra is affecting it.
