The author really knows how to keep the tension going when writing and drawing Inori's performance. Much like with Riina we get an anticipation that Inori put her best jumps first. Then we get Koichi mentioning Inori is landing her stuff much more consistently then the other girls. Rather than playing the odds or putting a big risk to get extra points, Tsukasa is basically having Inori really master her skills. Intriguing to use a strategy that older skaters use. Though the comment that Tsukasa's ice skating prowess has had an effect, it's cool. Though finishing strong with a double axel + euler + triple sachow. The insane part is how Tsukasa put Inori in a position to make that an almost sure thing.
More and more, we see the influence Tsukasa has on Inori and how he might be the perfect coach for her. The effort Tsukasa is putting for Inori goes without saying. Though their victory to think how far Inori has come from where moments like this seemed nothing but a dream for her. Just to think that she would cry from her dreams since she never thought they would come true is depressing to hear.
Though the switch to Tsukasa was good because after what Inori did, the other coaches should be impressed. Though the more alarming thing is that the other coaches thought that Shinichiro coaches Hikaru and didn't know Jun is the one that coaches her. The moment when Shinichiro realized that Tsukasa knows Jun coaches Hikaru it makes you think, why is he hiding the fact? To protect both Hikaru and Jun? Where did Hikaru come from? Why does Jun need to be protected from the media?
Curious for Shinichiro to want Tsukasa to see Jun skate on the ice. Though Jun's curiosity grows on Tsukasa and he has highlighted a skill Tsukasa progress. He can examine the little things and these small things steady improve his skating until he can do a backflip like Jun. Though why does he push Tsukasa back to ice skating? Could it be possible that Jun can't go back and Tsukasa clearly can? Still, the most interesting thing is when he declared like him, Hikaru would win Gold in every event she participates in. Which is an insane goal to have. Still happy that Tsukasa doesn't lose heart here.
It's a bit depressing for Rioh there was a lack of tension in his event compared to the girls. A top 3 where only 2 competed. Obviously, pride to the best score is there, but you want competition in any sport. Though here we get our first impression of Iruka who displayed a fantastic performance. Really showing what strong core strength can help you ascent the moves you can perform. Though the one thing even more clear is her attitude. Though why is she so cruel to Inori specially? There is the comment of Inori's sister having to quit and Iruka didn't want to hear what Inori had to say. Though much like how Inori defended Tsukasa from Rioh when he changed coaches. We see Inori defending her sister. Though the only weird thing is Iruka picking on an elementary school student. Although they will be competing against each other next year so it is best to make an impression with her.
A fascinating part in the story here is that Inori did win a gold medal. However, how she did it put her in an awkward position here. Unlike the rest of the girls, she can't land a Triple Lutzes. Kind of shows that perfect Inori's sure moves could come back to haunt her. Though Tsukasa should know this, so what could he be planning here?
