:mindblown:

shyt was considered an automatic career ender as recent as the early 80's. I believe that Bernard King was one of the only players to come back just as good (or at all for that time) and that nikka sat out damn near 2 years before he hit the court again.

Over the last 5 years alone there had been probably 20-35 ACL tears in American sports. WTF is going on? Is it the food? I don't hear this shyt happening this much in other countries. I'm only 28, but at the rate of current ACL tears, if this shyt was happening back in the days then plenty of great players careers would have ended. Off the top of the dome, I don't remember too many greats who were ended cause of injury.

I'm happy as fukk I got a Tibia Plateau Fracture last month and only fukked bones up Insted of ligaments. I got a 6 month recovery time until I can be close to normal, but I ain't doing athletics so I'm good once I can limp lol. This ACL shyt is crazy though.

bodies are wound more tight with weight lifting today, ligaments cant handle the extra mass

how you break your leg though?

Detroit You bytch Ass nikka
goddamn breh that fukking sucks
Yeah breh. I seen the XRay for before and after surgery and it was :ohhh:.

The metal bar is pretty much just keeping my thigh bone (femur) in place. It's drilled through my femur and the heel of my foot. shyt looks crazy in an XRay.

The actual broken bone is where you see the cuts/stitches at. They had to put a lot of screws and plates in my shyt to repair it. I'm hoping this shyt does not affect me for life. Doc said I'm healing well though. That metal shyt been on since the 21st of last month. If all is good they gone take it off next week. I'm praying for the best

Like what has already been mentioned, one of the reasons is probably the higher volume of work and starting all the specialized training much earlier.

I literally got a rebound, posted up my nikka Dobbs son, did a drop step and snapped my shyt.

Only reason I got out my car is because the nikka had not come outside yet and his son was shooting around outside. I was on the court for 30 seconds :snoop:. I was buzzing like a mothafukka though, but still, I was not drunk enough to not execute a simple ass drop step.

My whole hood thought I was bullshytting :russ:. I was on the ground fresh as fukk lmao. nikkas talking to me about fukking up my fit while my damn leg was broke lmao

That would make sense if it weren't skinny point guards blowing their knees out as well :jbhmm:

yea but those skinny point guards are turning their bodies at unnatural angles breh, now we got big men who wanna handle the rock and play "Point-Forward"

Be scared breh, be very scared. A simple ass post move drop step did this to me

No jump involved, no contact, no nothing. Just planting my left leg after drop stepping :to:

Part of me believes since professional athletes are physical freaks for the most part, they over extend themselves and rely on their gifts over technique.

With great defenders on them, plenty of players try to push themselves harder to make cuts that throw off great defense rather than using skills: hesitations, selling the fake better, set-ups, counter moves, etc.

I look at that Kelvin Benjamin injury and maybe since he figured the defender was on him too well, he had to cut "harder" back rather than maybe giving a subtle fake first. Those hard cuts/stops are what make ACL injuries.

It's amazing how many fast, tall WR's I see not running great routes, and don't know how to set them up. With their athleticism, they'd be way more tricky to guard with a developed route tree and being crafty doing it.

tl;dr: the more fundamentally sound with your skills, the less athleticism you need. The more you use you shoulders and upper body in general as well as your brain (technique/chess match) to sell fakes, the less you need your knees to make sudden sharp movements.
