I got called back in to the office over the summer and made it a little under 2 months before I left for a WFH job and, unfortunately, a pretty substantial pay cut. But, it's been worth it. The quality of life increase is so much better that I can deal with the missing money. Sitting on my balcony with headphones when it's nice out, taking random sporadic breaks to clear my head, listening to whatever I want, easing into my day instead of getting slapped with the cacophony of life having to take the train 45 minutes into the city... fukk all that. I saw first hand at my old company these useless mid-level Boomers who think that if you're not trekking into Midtown to wear slacks and sit at a desk, than work couldn't possibly be getting done. But at the same time THEY were all WFH from vacation homes all over the country with no plans to return. I decided I'll do whatever to not have to go in, and more importantly, to not have to work for people like that.

Honestly theres been a lot of silver lining in how much life has slowed down. Lot of good time to tap into self and let go of a lot of useless bullshyt. It sucks that it took a fukking pandemic to bring some people to that point but whatever - this whole experience has been an opportunity

My job is hiring like crazy because of the interest rates. I’ve had plans to apply for another position for about two years now because it would be a pretty good increase for me but I’m waiting it out to see if it’s a permanent wfh position if it is I’ll apply or if they send us back in the office in my current role I’ll apply.

I have noticed since my wife is working from home and my daughter is online schooling from home grocery bill and electric bill has jumped
This. Grocery and utility bills much higher. The positive is that we don’t eat out as much which means healthier meals prepared at home. I save $$ on gas and buying “professional” office clothes, but that’s about it. Flip side of that - I feel bummy not dressing up daily, flip side of that, ive never purchased so many pairs of leggings in my life - they’re mad comfortable. My son basically told that I need to get my shyt together bc he’s not used to seeing me dressed down all the time and when things reopen; working from home is not a full time option; I’m going to have a hard time adjusting. Didn’t realize that I gave birth to a mini version of my father 2.0. But he is kind of right though.

It's like, if I could come in for three days and stay home Thurs and Friday, I;ll be good.
I get bored as fukk at home and honestly work way less than I do at work. I save off Transportation but Lunch, but this shyt is boring.

Been working from home since before the pandemic; it's been a game changer. No more office politics. I can sign on at 10:30 if I want; my manager doesn't really care as long as I produce. Only drawback is that since we're all remote, my manager will often come up with these crazy ideas to spice up staff meetings, like crazy Christmas sweaters during one holiday season.

what does your second job consist of?
Recruiting just like my first job but for different positions
I did the same thing. Easy money, just gotta manage the meetings
Yup, cam always off on zoom meetings and I have two computers so even if IT needs to login to see something they aren’t going to find shyt about either company on the laptops :mjlol:
