Melodramatic death scene of Poppa Clark dying saving a dog was horrible and IDK how I feel about Superman killing Zod, but a great film. :salute:

Aint nobody that calm in a fukkin tornado. Yoooo i was literally sittin there like, this nikkas about to die to save that fukkin dog isnt he. :patrice: He was in a lose lose. If he didnt save the dog his wife would have divorced him and if he did he was gonna die. Clark could have made it look alot easier. nikka had a bum ankle and just said :manny:

That whole flashback scene and Louis Lane being a typical nosy white person almost ruined the film for me. :dwillhuh:

Loved that the General and Perry White was black...every movie with a crisis must have black leaders. :skip:

Zod was able to throw superman through 7 skyscrapers but let superman get him in a chokehold and snap his neck? The fukk? :rudy:

Other than that I thought the movie was dope.

But it's not Superman and the fact that I can point out my qualms without you having any REAL counterpoint to it other than the fact that you really liked it and you don't like comic purists disliking it kinda proves it.

In fact Iron Man and Batman Begins kinda invalidate your post because they differ and were still excellent films farrrrrrrrrrr better than Man of Steel and they took liberties with the source material as well

Saying it is not Superman is a stupid statement that requires no further invalidation. Baby gets sent to Earthfrom a doomed planet, is raised on a farm by the Midwest couple that finds him, develops super powers, becomes a costumed do-gooder, has a relationship with a tenacious lady reporter, moves to Metropolis and becomes a reporter himself.
That is the gist of the Superman mythos and all of that is in the movie. So if you don't like Man of Steel that is fine but to claim to not like it because it "isn't Superman" is just a stupid statement.

I think they kept the cape-being-his-blanket thing, but she based the costume on his parents' image

Zod was emotional and ready to die.

I may be wrong but I got the impression that some residents of Smallville know Clark is Superman but will choose to protect his identity

From an interview that Man of Steel writer David Goyer recently gave:
In our minds there are people in Smallville who know Superman’s secret as well [as Lois], Pete Ross seems to know, there’s probably a couple dozen people who know and we thought it would be interesting if they’re protective of him.

As a nicca with extensive knowledge of white folks and Kansas, I can say part that was very accurate.

sidebar:
When the general was askin' Clark at the end "how can he know if he won't turn against yada yada..." and Clark said "I was raised in Kansas, i'm as American as you can get" I couldn't resist...

I was watching it in Kansas so I said "let me try something..." I said "YEAH - KANSAS, FOO'!" and a lot of folks in the theater said "WHOOOO!" lol
