I saw a screener for this last night. I had to wait in line for 5 hours to get in. Here is a little bit of the movie and what I thought of it.
The action was the best part of the movie. The opening sequence on krypton and the last battle were great. The middle is boring. 2 people I went with actually fell asleep during the middle. The middle is him as an adult going from town to town, him having flashbacks with the Kents, and Lois Lane doing research on superman. After Zod comes to earth it picks up again. The last battle was epic. The damage done to metropolis was bigger than what was done to Manhattan in the avengers. If you are looking for something deeper, like what was done in the dark knight trilogy, you will probably be disappointed. They tried to make in seem more realistic but I just didn't think it fit. The movie was at its best when you saw superman going at it with zod and the other kryptonians. I would give this movie an 8 out of 10 based solely on the action in the movie. I also waited till after the credits since most of the theater didn't get up and leave at the end and there was no after credits scene.

Without even seeing it, that's basically what I expected. But...

I think with any origins movie you have to have a backstory with a proper build up. People want all action or that comic relief. I honestly think Nolan's best Batman flick was Batman begins because it had a dope backstory.

In all of the Superman Movies you never really get to see just how powerful Superman I'm anticipating the action.

:why:
so if the director feels the story isn't to his liking u think he has the pull to get the co-writer (who happens to be the producer who hired him) to re-write the script? U are an idiot, the director (in this situation especially) is for hire. His job is to implement his vision with the material he's given.U think WB went through the trouble to get nolan to spearhead this venture so the buck can stop with the director of sucker punch? :heh: I might be lookin @ it "simply" but u haven't got a clue.
if what u are saying is remotely true shouldnt the producer who greenlit the final edit bear the brunt of the blame or do those duties go to the director too :pachaha:

What are you finding hard to understand?

It's the directors job to make the story work. Whether in the writing process or in the edit. It's his vision. You can't start praising directors when they make a good film then start copping pleas when the film is garbage.

Obviously there's other elements that are significant but it's the directors job to make sure the film stands up. And if it doesn't then he should be called up on it.

It's not like all these issues that people are criticising the film for haven't been apparent in all his other films. But yeah I'm sure it wasn't Snyder's fault that Sucker Punch and Watchmen were garbage. Let's blame it on the producer or writer or the fukking focus puller :russ:

Saw it last night shyt was awesome but not better than batman. I never saw any other superman movie and was never a big fan either. It wasnt like he was superman the whole movie which was good and bad. Once he starts becoming superman shyt was dope. I saw 1 of 2 easter eggs I heard about
I saw Lexcorp at least two times, I read there was a Wayne Enterprise but didnt see it. I think I might of saw it near the end. It was supposed to be on a satellite in space that said wayne enterprise on it. If it was there it was hard as hell to see it.

Just edited my post to include the two easter eggs in it if you wanna read about it. I give it a high 8/low 9 outta 10. I love Batman but I dont think I am bias, Superman movie can never be better than batman. Amy Adams was lookin good the whole movie. Michael Shannon was good as zod and his side piece was sexy too. Elliot Stabler from SVU was dope in it.

Question for Superman fans: Is it a thing for Superman to never show much emotion? Is that part of being from Krypton? Seems like Superman didn't show to much emotion in the movie. He was kind of like the same the whole movie except at the end.

Fred, long time first time. I usually agree with your post and for the most part your movie taste I think. This was good movie tho. I saw it in 3d for free but wouldnt reccomend paying the few extra bucks for 3d.
