Nothing about being comicbook elitists
they changed superman, he doesn't kill
they did a terrible job of showing that superman cares
superman killed 3 kryptonians in the pre-New 52 universe. he also killed doomsday (until doomsday decided he wasn't dead anymore).
they did a fine job of showing he cared. saving the kids on the bus, the oil rig, etc. but they forced him to make a decision when fighting against someone with all his power and zero fukks to give.
it's funny. ppl always complain about putting superman up against someone who can match him blow for blow. well these two nikkas can juggle planets. THIS IS WHAT happens. war zone. especially when, again, you factor in that superman had never faced anything like zod before.
i dont know why yall skip over the part where zod schools him: "I was bred to be a warrior, Kal. Trained my entire life to master my senses. Where did you train? ON A FARM?"
like a gully ass, born for war villain like zod would really sit there and let supes make an intellectual plea for the innocent. "my god the people!"
THIS VERSION of superman had to learn the effect his battles have. now, if he doesn't show aversion to out in the open battles in the next flick, then you're right. but to me, they set up the fight to show the audience AND kal-el just how much damage he can do if he's not careful.
like i said. comic book elitists. so stuck on what the character is supposed to be doing u refuse to see any cause for what he is doing.
