it's unpopular because they took liberties in telling THEIR VERSION of superman's origin.
most seemed to be ok with the krypton revisions. but couldn't handle the changes to pa kent and kal's decision on how to handle zod.
also... cats were butthurt about all the damage superman caused without regard for human life. even tho the last scene (and all the childhood scenes) clearly shows just how much kal does value human life. and even tho it's clear this superman is hella wet behind the ears, and has no type of fukking clue what type of impact war can have, regardless of what side you fight on.
basically, comic book nikkas being elitist-ass comic book nikkas.
the usual. movie WAS long in spots, but a strong start imo.

The movie was a huge hit, and the viewing public loved it. Some critics disliking it and being butthurt don't equate to it being unpopular.
Exactly. But doesn't that set up the sequel with Lex and Batman perfectly? We pretty much see the reason why Lex would hate on Supes given a lot of Lex's shyt was destroyed during the battle.
