"Malcolm X", 1992 Spike Lee-directed biographical film with Denzel Washington

Movie is incredible. Denzel was amazing and put in a performance for the ages.

But he won an Oscar for training day

I remember me and my pops went to the show to see this when I was 14

But in THIS situation it was all political in which Denzel ALREADY was an Oscar winner for Glory whereas Al Pacino NEVER EVER WON.... and Pacino had his iconic roles in the past. So, for the EXACT SAME REASON Denzel won for Training Day was why they did for Pacino for Scent of a Woman. It was something more long overdue rather than for the film itself. Same reason why Leo won for the Revenant. It wasn't his greatest performance, but it was because it was long overdue and should of won for Aviator.

Dances With Wolves won over Goodfellas

Spike was srewed out of a Best Picture. There is no way the Academy would acknowledge the impact Malcom X had. Was Denzel nominated for his roles in Glory and Philadelphia? shyt, you could make a great thread on Oscar snubs.
