My 1st post from this morning on it from Higher Learning

One thing people need to come to grips with right now...
They are all dead

My classmates and I have been heavy in this since yesterday
(Aeronautics Majors)

To clear some things up
The oil slick theory means very little

Here is the pic shot from the Vietnamese plane:

The 777 has a perfect record flight wise
(if we aren't including the Asiana fukk up)

Now
With the flight track that was set prior to takeoff
Why they were over Vietnam is mind boggling.
Que-up Korean Airlines Flight 007

Radar Trax is suggesting a steep and sudden decent
I figure by the end of the day we will have a debris trail found somewhere either land or water

Also worth of note
an Austrian mans passport was stolen and the person who stole might have been on the place
http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/03/08/us-malaysia-airlines-crash-austria-idUSBREA270IF20140308

My 3 guesses right now:
Hydraulics failure in the Elevator/Aileron
Suicide by pilot/Terrorism
Missile

Just to clear some things up
Communication was lost 40minutes into the flight
When flying away from any aignificant Air Traffic Controlled airspace
planes set checkpoints to check in
they will radio in there location, followed by the location of there next check in with an eta
This might scare some people flying over ocean rescue wise since there is no direct comunicay with ATC

When a plane fails to check-in 30mins after its scheduled time
ATC sends out communications to said aircraft
Even after that...
It wouldn't be until close to the 60min mark where the airline is contacted
followed by departure and arrival destinations

When something goes wrong 40mins into a flight and its likely
Terrorism of some sort
or Mechanical Failure based upon a final inspection error of something being missed
I've read a few instances where final maintenance inspections failed
see Continental Express Flight 2574

But its last checkup was 10 days ago which is a lot of flight hours ago for someone to have fukked up in the Maintenance Facility

been an aviation enthusiast since i was 5 years old breh. I also hold a Canadian PPL with just under 60 hrs flight time.

and you also a chelsea fan? :ohlawd::salute:

Been an Aviation Enthusiast since my first flight at 4
Was on the fast track to my ppl in H.S. and had 18hrs by my 17th bday
But sports overtook my life
and since graduating H.S. I've only been up once smh

Took me to my late 20's to decide to go back to school again and get my Degree in something I actually love...
Aviation Management at San Jose St
But I also got into Stanford and some pilots I know are advising me against my Aviation degree for a Business degree from there
but
I still have 17k in debt from my first stint thru college
Not trying to take up 60k more
Besides
I love aviation and every upper division class is a passion class for me

Its now Sunday morning in Malaysia
I will be absolutely shocked if the wreckage isnt found today
Yes there are variables that could effect the search but with the technology we have in satellites and man power searching
something will be found

That said
Speculation that the pilot issued an SOS and our military picked it up:

"U.S. Embassy said the 2:43 U.S. military bases stationed in Thailand U-Tapao SOS signal was listening to some of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 emergency call, said the aircraft cabin facing disintegration driver call, they want a forced landing "

I recently was explaining to a friend about the effects of a crash
He didn't understand how a plane literally disintegrates upon impact
He had argued that the plane that hit the pentagon was never found
I then showed him these debris fields of resulting crashes:

DC-8 2000, which isn't a small plane

Tupolev 154 back in 2001

P-3 back in 2004
tanker-p3b.jpg

None of these planes were going near the speed of the plane that hit the pentegon

How does this correlate to Malaysia MH370?

From a physics standpoint
Any object traveling at x speed from y height hitting the ground at k-kinetic energy will be like hitting concrete
lets explain this using more scientific theory:
This may fly over somes head
using drag formula - P=1/2ρv^2Cd
This explains at what point/height does hitting water = concrete
Drag coef. of man=1
Density of water=1000 kg/m^3
Terminal velocity=50 m/s
Cross sectional area of man=0.6 m^2
Mass of man=75 kg
Therefore:
P=1.25 MPa
F=750 kN
a=10000 m/s^2

About 1000 gs!
Not a single bone survives.

Now think about this when considering a plane free diving from 35000 feet
Now also consider how rough the seas are and what pieces will actually float
Then factor in the beacon or black box not surviving
Now you understand why its so hard to find the debris

@BonafideDefacto check out the captains home sim.

Dude was a dedicated chap. RIP.

check out his post. http://www.x-sim.de/forum/viewtopic....d50f8298#p3972

:sadbron:

Link wont work for me for some reason breh
But I would love to have that setup
Microsoft Flight Sim X would be piff on this
I've seen Predator and UAV flight units with less sophistication

impressive stuff breh. I haven't been up since 2011 and haven't acted as PIC since 2010. I'mma go up sometime in may with a friend instructor of mine and maybe get my night rating aswell. I'm thinkin of comin down to ATP to finish errthang. You kno anything about them?

Also, do you think its in water or on land? when AF447 went down, officials were able to find debris almost immediately even though it was a larger stretch of water and area to look in. Flightaware showed it going off just off the tip of malaysia between the GUNPO and KUKO waypoint. But if they went down on land, surely the ELT would've went off.

You talking bout going to flight school?
Which one specifically?
I would follow some pilots on instagram and beat them for knoledge if thats the route you wanna go
From everything I'm hearing and reading...
we are on a shortage of pilots.
Shyt come to think of it
On Instagram Im following a brotha who is a captain of a 757
He has a lil bro who is a first officer of a 737 and is only 25
:ohhh:

At 25 dude is 1st officer of a 737

And non military
went civilian

Let me kno if you got instagram, Ill shoot u his username

dapped for the knowledge and passion in this post

As I told my pops who was kinda against me starting over
You only live once
Why live it not living your dream
Live your life as if its on purpose and for purpose
and value it like you wont have another

The world needs pilots like you :to:

Since I was regularly flying as a youngin
my faith has changed
as of recent my religious views are almost non existent

Back when I was a kid I thought God was protecting me and it made me feel invisible and I did some crazy shyt growing up
Never thought once of going down in a plane
but I knew that's how I would die somehow

Fast forward to now
When you understand the dynamics of flight like an engineer
and have very little religious faith
It effects you
Now I'm either as a pilot going to have an uncanny belief in my skills as a pilot
or my ass aint flying

This said

I want everyone to remember 2 things

I'd rather my pilot of my plane be an atheist
cause he will fight until the last inch
and never accept mortality

and

It is a saying in the aerospace field...

"Aviation rules and regulations are written in blood"

that's one of the main reason they don't even bother putting parachutes on commercial planes.

its flat out not feasible from a logic standpoint, would be expensive as fvck (gotta check all them chutes before every flight), and the average person doesnt know how to change a flat tire much less jump out of a disabled aircraft under extreme duress.

you might have someone who is physically fit enough to figure it out on their own but theres still gonna be casualties. Old people and babies arent surviving that kind of ish

not only that, but the aerodynamics too.

Aircraft designers, engineers and manufacturers gotta examine to see how much of an effect putting a parachute on board would affect the aircraft's flight dynamics. So far, no one has really recommended it in the industry (atleast to my knowledge) which suggests that the likelihood of that happening now and in the future is pretty much unlikely.

Somebody compared getting in a car to the dangers of a flight. I guess that is correct on some base level. But let me tell you something. If my engine dies in my car and I"m out in the middle of nowhere or in light traffic, all I have to do is pull over. If a plane engine goes to dirt for whatever reason while you are in the sky, let's just say your options are few if any for getting out of that little snafu alive. There's risk and then there's relative risk.
