http://www.cbssports.com/nba/eye-on...hire-jim-cleamons-to-join-derek-fishers-staff

The New York Knicks are hiring Jim Cleamons to be a part of Derek Fisher's coaching staff, according to Brad Turner of the Los Angeles Times.

Cleamons spent last season on Larry Drew's staff in Milwaukee, but there have been rumblings that he'd wind up in New York ever since Phil Jackson came aboard as team president. Cleamons was an assistant under Jackson for title-winning teams in Chicago and Los Angeles, and he can help the Fisher install the triangle offense. Alongside Jackson, he coached Fisher from 1999 to 2004 with the Lakers.

Longtime Jackson assistant Kurt Rambis is also on Fisher's staff, serving as the lead assistant.

This dude is being groomed by one of the goat coaching staffs:win:

Jason Kidd did pretty well for his first year as a head coach..

If people think Derek is the head coach, they gon' learn today :mjlol:.

Making the same kind of points that any reasonable fan would make. :sas2:

"Bu-bu-but the triangle." It's going to be comedy watching JR wrap his head around the triangle.

I think it raises a lot of the points that have been made in this thread, the East flattened out - it's less top heavy, but it has more solid-to-good teams this season. I think a change in coach and a change in front office/leadership/outlook can lead to legitimate gains. I just think people tend not to look around and see what the whole league is doing ASIDE from the knicks. There is a lot of competition in the east.

It'll be fun to watch Calderon/JR/Melo/Tim/Shump bomb away from the outside this season.

Always interesting to see the tangents that develop in here when there's barely any real news coming at this point in the off season.

With Phil running the show, a few locker room cancers in Felton and Chandler in the bushes, an actual offense being run, and no more free rides on the staff for bum ass Herb Williams and those of his ilk, there's going to be a different energy to this team come October.

Common sense that should translate to at least 10 more wins from last season.

'Melo had a better team in college than he ever did in the NBA (including now) :snoop:. All those dudes could make shots and defend:
