If we're going to be completely honest, there might not really be any moves that'll put us over the top until the Knicks first establish themselves as a legitimate organization again. And to do that, they've gotta prove that the 54 game season wasn't a fluke and that this team is closer to the one that played the last 30 games of this past season than the one that played the first 53. Knicks win this year, build a team with three top players, a former 6moy, some young pieces, and get some good veteran role players they're a lot closer to getting to where we want than if they try to start from scratch. That's a 5-6 year process just to see if they can build something.
The insinuation that a combination of Marc Gasol and Greg Monroe is equivalent to one good year of Amar'e and one good year of past prime Tyson Chandler is asinine and should be sent to the trash with the rest of your opinions. Gasol is younger and healthier, while being one of the best defenders in the league and not being completely useless offensively. Greg Monroe has no serious history of injury and has probably missed a total of 5 games while managing to be a better rebounder than Stat. In what world does that show you the results would be exactly the same?
