Wasting the cap on a team that won't put us over the top. It's the same fukking situation we were just in and trying to get out of. How hard is that to comprehend?
If we're going to be completely honest, there might not really be any moves that'll put us over the top until the Knicks first establish themselves as a legitimate organization again. And to do that, they've gotta prove that the 54 game season wasn't a fluke and that this team is closer to the one that played the last 30 games of this past season than the one that played the first 53. Knicks win this year, build a team with three top players, a former 6moy, some young pieces, and get some good veteran role players they're a lot closer to getting to where we want than if they try to start from scratch. That's a 5-6 year process just to see if they can build something.

The insinuation that a combination of Marc Gasol and Greg Monroe is equivalent to one good year of Amar'e and one good year of past prime Tyson Chandler is asinine and should be sent to the trash with the rest of your opinions. Gasol is younger and healthier, while being one of the best defenders in the league and not being completely useless offensively. Greg Monroe has no serious history of injury and has probably missed a total of 5 games while managing to be a better rebounder than Stat. In what world does that show you the results would be exactly the same?

Like you?

Essentially doing exactly the same thing they did with Amare and Chandler. Mediocrity all over again.

I agree with war report, yeah Monroe and Gasol are better than Amare and Tyson. But locking the cap into just 3 players is recipe for disaster. At first it would be a good team but 2-3 years in and that could all change for the worse. Also if its not a good team there will be no cap room for improvement. Parity is back in the league and its become a 2 prime star league.

Gasol is the best player out there for the triangle, LMA is also better for the triangle, but if the knicks got a guy like Monroe they would have money to go after another above average player next year as well. And Monroe is young enough to mold into a better player long term. That's the rub of my argument

and another thing is say Durant actually goes into FA I'd say we have to leave cap for that as well if possible ( just on the off chance ) I doubt he wants to come here but if we can really implement the triangle to great success and we defy those espn standing projections you never know :yeshrug: I'd prefer Marc to Monroe but then again I never really see Greg play

Breh there's a chance no matter what we that we may never get a ring . Nba doesn't provide the parity provided by other sports

He was top 10 (7th) in league in Defensive WS, he made big strides.
Al Jefferson is a pretty atrocious defender

Boozer was top 10 in DTrg last season and top 15 in defensive win shares

Need I continue?

Old Brooklyn
Jesus... that is a BRUTAL way to start the season

NBA trolling Phil & Fish
But interestingly enough...

The 2013 season, we started off w/ a big, surprising, W against Miami which put that battery in our back that turned into a 6 game winning streak & a 8-1 record to start the season. Source: http://www.landofbasketball.com/results_by_team/2012_2013_knicks.htm

I actually like starting the season like that. We have to face you guys & the Cavs some time, might as well be to kick off the season. I do understand wanting to get our bearings first but fukk it... I want to season to start off w/ a bang win or lose.

That being said, I'm more afraid of Chi than Cleveland. If we beat Chicago, Melo is scoring 40 against Cleveland.
