Again, huh?
If I'm really what you say I am and you keep going back and forth with me, then what does that make you?
But it IS hard to follow, because MJ - right up until he retired the second time - was an ELITE NBA athlete. "When he can't run and jump like he used to" HE'S BEEN IN THE LEAGUE MORE THAN A DECADE! 11 years, and he's still one of the best athletes in basketball.
Next year it'll be 12 years in the league and the same story.
Eventually ALL players degrade. Melo's game seems to have a longer shelf-life to kids, because he shoots more jumpshots. But his long-midrange jumpers are the WORST part of having him on your team. And people say he'll be better because he can rely on those skills. Nah. Without the threat of a blow-by Carmelo's game becomes useless. He's never passed well, he can't post up bigger players consistently.
When LeBron's athleticism goes away... he'll be retiring. You shouldn't be depending on a player "who's athleticism goes away" in the first place, so who cares?
Did all of you idiots sign up at once? Or has there been a slow leak we're not aware of...
And for the record... MJ went to the next level when he got Pippen and Phil Jackson.
Sorry to the actual fans putting up with my posting back and forth... but I'm setting a precedent: This is the offseason therad, and I'm not having any fukking idiots running around here trying to pretend they root for this team, or know what's best, especially some brand-new teenagers that just got the internet.
Nah. Keep it moving, go root for the Bobcats.

Someone's emotional.
But what I don't understand is you claim to be a true Knicks fan, but you are so hard for Lebron James.
Especially when no one is saying that he won't be able to produce in his later years. It was a suggestion based off his style of play.
But that was all it took to bring out all this emotion. Oh the anger! Anyone merely implies something negative about Lebron, and here you come guns blazing in dude's defense. Like the true Knick fan that you are of course.
Now that I think about it I don't know any true Knick fans that go out there way to cape for ya boy. Yeah we're knowledgeable so of course we respect his game and overall historic production (even in this no hand-checking era).
But I guess that's ya boy.
Btw this one of my favorites
Now does that sound like it was written by a actual Knick fan?
Or even an actual NBA head?
Ironically, I seem to recall watching Melo drop 50 on Lebron ....all from outside
"He was highly efficient, shooting 18-for-26 from the field, 7-for-10 from 3-point range and 7-for-8 from the foul line.
He didn't even have to score in the paint, collecting most of his points on outside shots."

Nope.

I'm not riding for him. I'm just trying to keep the conversation in this form fact-based.
But that was all it took to bring out all this emotion. Oh the anger! Anyone merely implies something negative about Lebron, and here you come guns blazing in dude's defense. Like the true Knick fan that you are of course.
There are plenty of criticisms of LeBron that are valid. Lazy defense. Doesn't always take advantage of size mismatches. Horrible hairline masking.
Now that I think about it I don't know any true Knick fans that go out there way to cape for ya boy. Yeah we're knowledgeable
No. You are not.
Now does that sound like it was written by a actual Knick fan?
Written by a basketball fan. Somebody that's been around the game, played at a high level, covered it at a higher level.
Ironically, I seem to recall watching Melo drop 50 on Lebron ....all from outside
You recall incorrectly, because LeBron didn't guard Melo for most of that game.
"He was highly efficient, shooting 18-for-26 from the field, 7-for-10 from 3-point range and 7-for-8 from the foul line.
He didn't even have to score in the paint, collecting most of his points on outside shots."

Knicks coach Mike Woodson and Phil Jackson were ironing out a time to meet early next week to discuss his future, according to an NBA source familiar with the situation.
Woodson was not invited to be part of the exit meetings with the Knicks’ 14 players that occurred Thursday and Friday, with Jackson and general manager Steve Mills running them. It was a strong indicator Woodson wouldn’t be asked back.
Woodson has not been told he’s not coming back, the source said. However, The Post has reported Steve Kerr already expects to be Woodson’s successor.
Jackson has kept his distance from Woodson since taking over in March and didn’t travel with the team or attend practices. But Jackson likely would want to pick Woodson’s brain regarding the roster and what went wrong. ESPN New York reported Woodson, if he has no chance to save his job, preferred to have his agent talk with Jackson. But Woodson has been convinced otherwise, the NBA source said.
“He didn’t want to be interfering,’’ one person close to Jackson said on why Jackson stayed away. “It was too late to change anything. What was he going to do, say ‘Here’s the triangle’ for the last five games?”
Woodson, who has one year and $3.4 million left on his pact, after Mills exercised his option in training camp to ease the bitterness of Glen Grunwald’s firing as GM and ensure he wasn’t viewed as a lame duck is expected to be let go next week, but the sit-down will be Woodson’s chance to state his case after the Knicks finished the season on a 16-5 run to finish 37-45 — a 17-game fall over last season. His Knicks record in 2 ½ seasons is 109-79.
”I think it’s been enough said about my job all year with you guys,” Woodson said Wednesday before the season finale. “Hopefully, soon I’ll know my destination in terms of where I’m going to be.”
Lakers big man Pau Gasol will be a free agent this summer and said he wouldn’t mind a reunion with his former coach, Jackson. However, it seems impossible unless Gasol is willing to take the Knicks’ $3.1 million mini-midlevel exception. The Knicks, under new collective bargaining agreement policy, are in a luxury-tax bracket that doesn’t allow them to obtain a free agent through a sign-and-trade.
“I’m happy for [Jackson] and the position that he got,” Gasol said. “I’m always going to be a big fan and a friend. I would listen.”
Gasol said he’s unsure if he wants to re-sign with the Lakers, admitting Mike D’Antoni’s offense didn’t fit him.

what exactly is the hold-up w/ Woodson?

Where will Carmelo go? The Knicks face four challengers
Carmelo Anthony plans to opt out of his contract with the Knicks and become a free agent this summer. Here’s a look at possible destinations:
Bulls
Chicago has work to do to get sufficiently under the salary cap to make this work. They must amnesty Carlos Boozer and move Mike Dunleavy in a salary dump. And there’s still a possibility they’d also have to move sixth man extraordinaire Taj Gibson. After those moves, would Anthony still consider the Bulls a title contender? He does like coach Tom Thibodeau and the big market.
Rockets
The Post first reported Houston’s interest in acquiring Anthony last month, but more so in a sign-and-trade if the Knicks are desperate. To get under the cap, Rockets GM Daryl Morey still has to shuttle off the expiring deals of Jeremy Lin and Omer Asik. No easy task. However, in a sign-and-trade, Lin’s marketability could still be appealing as long as the Knicks get back a young asset in Chandler Parsons. No state income tax in Texas and Dwight Howard’s pitch that winning is more important than market size nowadays should have Anthony intrigued.
Lakers
Jeanie Buss’ club will have the necessary cap space to sign Anthony, but doesn’t seem inclined to do so. Would Buss want to ruin fiancé Phil Jackson’s club right off the bat? Word is, the Lakers are looking more at the 2015 free-agent class, which features Kevin Love.
Clippers
Anthony has always wanted to play with Chris Paul, and he has a home in Los Angeles. But Blake Griffin’s emergence has made LA not a strong candidate for Anthony’s services. They’d need a sign-and-trade and Griffin once figured to be the pawn. No longer.
Knicks
The Knicks can offer the most at five years, $129 million, but Anthony doesn’t want all that cash if taking less means the club can add to the talent in 2015 free agency. Anthony has made plenty of statements he strongly prefers to remain — especially now that Jackson is here to impart his philosophy to the franchise. But Anthony does want to hear a personnel plan before committing. Anthony’s trust that Jackson can figure it out makes the Knicks big favorites.
