i wasn't speaking specifically toward her, but she wants to pick and choose when she defend weave.

and i think y'all make natural hair way more complicated than it is. why do you think we wont understand when we have the same hair you do? i've grown my hair out before, and i didn't need protective stylings :stopitslime:

Didn't mean to pick and choose, wherever I did that.

:wow:

Natural beauty's hard to find but I suppose you've just got to suck it up. The only winning move is not to play, brehs...but we love this game too much. :notsure:

COLI! We've got another black hair thread bubbling. ARE YOU READYYYY?!

It's only a matter of time before the usual suspects pop up in here and stretch this thread out to the mid-to-late teens. We can expect a lot of defending of natural hair advocating from the men while weaves/extensions are defended by ladies who all make a point of saying "Well, IIIII personally wear my hair natural BUT..." Expect the quotable quotes, miscommunications, and frustrations to be on deck, folks.

ARE YOU RRRRRRRREADY?

For the thousands in attendance and the millions of twists & derailments this thread (which was originally about make-up) is about to take from people chilling at home. Ladies & gentlemen.... :youngsabo:

How is she picking and choosing when she stated what she thinks about why and how some women wear weave. Every woman doesn't wear weave for the same reasons. Some want length, some want a specific style without cutting their hair or using chemicals and some are completely natural yet want to protect their hair. There isn't a standard reason for it. Her response was hers and hers only.

Trust me being natural is way harder than being relaxed. I've often thought about throwing in the towel and getting some creamy crack but it's not worth it. My hair is healthier than it's ever been so that outweighs the challenges of being natural. Also black men and women have the same hair from a biological stand point but styling options set us apart. I'm sure if you had to finger detangle, deep condition, seal, twist/ twist out and moisturize, etc. on a daily or weekly bases you'd think differently.

Natural hair is far more delicate than chemically treated hair. Breakage and moisture are key to natural hair. Finding the right balance is tricky and different for each person; the slightest thing can hinder it. I don't understand why some men think it's so simple. I don't tell you about your hair so please stop trying to tell me about mine.

No according to a man in the waves thread, people of the opposite sex cannot understand each others hair even if they have the same textures. :manny:

:patrice: wearing someone elses hair on top of your head to protect your own hair is hard to understand.

Maybe it's because I have sisters in my family but...

You don't know shyt about Black woman's hair breh. Sorry but you just don't. I wasn't going to comment on this, but I'm looking at this thread during my lunch break like :snoop: you are overly critical of some Black beauties who ARE trying to wear their hair natural and educate you on why Black women have to protect their hair.

A lot of the things whites do with their hair Black women can't because it is different and it will break off, even when it's natural, even when they don't use any heat the maintenance is still time consuming and completely different. They have way more upkeep than us brothers do.

:rudy:

There are plenty of women that will tell you they put something over it to give their hair a rest, like a wig or braids temporarily to keep from messing it to protect it because it' fragile and can't take the messing with it that white women do. Then when it grows out they take out the braids and weave. Combing your hair can even break it when it's natural, because it can be that fragile. The amount of effort it takes to grow and maintain it is more than you know.

I respect your black militancy at times but sometimes you just go ham for no reason at all. I mean, have you dated a Black woman who is natural before? This is day one stuff.

yeah, which is why i'm so perplexed by the situation. the ones who constantly permed/weaved their hair weren't able to the grow it. the naturals didn't seem to have all these problems that i read about online. my ex has hair down to her back and doesn't use weave or wigs to protect her hair from the elements. i understand the hair is sensitive, so how is manipulating it every which way helping them? i didn't realize i was 'going ham' though, just trying to get to some middle ground.

I don't remember hearing about all this struggle before weaves became popular. Yes women were using that creamy crack heavy back in the day, but the ones that were not...they were just worried about keeping their scalp greased. Now they worried about 5 element kung fu attackin they hair. But I'm a guy, and I don't understand the struggle. :rudy:

The worst is Asian chicks because their faces are so plain, it is really like a human blank canvas. You can almost make an Asian chick look like anybody:

asian_girls_makeup_14.jpg

^^^Bish went from 35 to 18 with a few brushstrokes :wow:.

chinese-girls-makeup-before-and-after-04.jpg

^^^Peep how she looks like a different woman than the first makeup job :demonic:

Anybody who knows Asian dudes know that most Asian dudes see right through that sh*t, that's why a lot of Asian bishes most people consider hot, Asian dudes be on some :scusthov: because they know that bish looks 10x worse without the face paint
