A lot goes into it.
You're not required to live in the home you purchased breh, just required to pay for it.
Upkeep of property values quite literally keeps up the funding for the nearby public schools, one of the main reasons why Black kids in urban school districts seated in poorer areas suffer when it comes to education.
No one has said college is a requirement, but it is a necessity. You can't a lot of professions with deficiencies in AAs are college-required, think about engineering, the bedrock of building, nation and otherwise. One of Haiti's biggest issues? A deficiency of civil, structural, and electrical engineers to properly build and maintain their infrastructure. Goes for nearly every other developing country, and a lot of poorer cities/suburbs. East Cleveland's city engineer doesn't do nearly enough, which is another of the nearly all-Black city's issues.
Home ownership is a necessity for a strong community.

i was talking personal preference really with home ownership...im not buying one...i dont want the headaches....i dont want the weight around my neck....i want to be able to pick up and move when i want to....

college is not a necessity breh....for some professions yes....like engineering....law....teaching...etc....yes we need engineers....we really do...but what we also need is business owners....small businesses account for a large percentage of jobs....and going to school is not going to teach you about business....what does? learning from another business owner

You're obviously not very smart

They are not hiring your LLC, they are just paying your LLC
typical dumb ass white man who knows nothing has achieved nothing, but want to act like he know something

a multi millionaire told me this tactic

First of all, you can use Your EIN as your Tax- ID number for ANYTHING

the fact you think you are running a business by having LLC prove you are a moron
it's just a ENTITY, you don't have to be operating a business to be an LLC, IT IS JUST A TAX IDENTIFYING NUMBER

YOU fukkING MORON

If my name is John Smith, and I make John Smith LLC, or fukk it just John Smith DBA
I can apply for any job using the tax identification number, so my social security isn't being taxed, but the business is

Also YOU CAN TELL YOUR JOB TO WITHHOLD TAXES, making you responsible to pay them, they cannot tell you

everything else you stated in your post had zero to do with the fact

congratulation you are a 40 year old simpleton

Hmmm... can you do this as a way to avoid your wages being garnished?

Shacking up before marriage is backwards bruh.

How is that backwards? So you don't want to know how the person that you might be sharing the next 20+ years of life with? That makes no sense. What if that person does not clean? Refuses to help out on the bills? Or is all around a shytty person? People can only hide for so long. Get out of that old school mentality.

This doesn't work if you are a W2 employee. You would be more or less a contract employee, and receive a form 1099. You would not receive any employee tax benefits such as the section 125 cafeteria plan, and will have to pay BOTH the employee and employer tax for FICA and Medicare. You will have to keep a tight lid on your finances because the IRS looks closely at returns filed by those who are self employed.

Basically, you have to know what you're doing.

I got a friend who got divorced at 39 with 5 kids making 130k a year north of Boston. The Alimony/child support was so high, he literally took a job for less money (still $70-90k a year) and moved into a rental apartment with only 2 bedrooms for his kids to share when they stayed with him. Within 2 years, 2 of the kids were old enough to be off at College and one was about to be graduating high school, so his child support dropped.....to $2k a month, and she can take him back to court any time he makes more money to ask for more support.

Dude literally makes less money on purpose right now, and never has any any doh, drives a old paid off sedan and watches his pennies for eating out/drinking.

Getting divorced is one of the best ways to ruin your financial earning power.

Arent divorce rates 50% :gucci:

So if i get married I have a 100% chance of fukkin my life up:gucci:

You and I have different moral standards bruh. I've lived with a GF before and I'm speaking from experience. I'm about living a righteous lifestyle now and encouraging others to do so as well.

No matter how much time you spend with a person you will never know 100% about them. Everyone has secrets and bad habits. Some people are masters of manipulation. I've experienced it.

I'm on a righteous path now in my life. I suggest you do some deep soul searching and start asking the tough questions spiritually because you sound like a novice trying to spit knowledge.

I save money as if tragedy is impending. I've put 33k aside in 2 years and that's while paying off loans.[/QUOTE]

that's very admirable. some people don't gross 33k in a year. sadly some don't do it in 2.

One of my old GMs, at the time, was pulling somewhere between 100-150k, with bonus considered. Then he got promoted and prolly got a bit more. Position went away and he became a GM again, and he just moved over to a bigger store as their GM.

Breh had just copped a 07 civic used to commute with. seemed smart. then he copped an accord coupe when they changed the body style. He told me he paid cash. Then when we had a hurricane evacuation, i saw that he had TWO more cars, a caddy and a toyota sequoia truck. Before he left my store or right after, he bought a Camry when they changed the body style. And he still has all 5 of them cars. His family size went from him and his wife and 2 kids to FIVE kids.

I thought he was balling cause he always had money in his pocket. I was told by my direct manager that homeboy was broke AF. So you pulling 150k, 5 cars, house, and every other year your wife having a kid? I assume at least during that time period (2008-2014), she didn't work for half of it.

My old manager? Makes somewhere between 60-70k. Has 2 kids. He's...44-45, and his house will be paid off in 7 years. No car note, and his oldest kid is like 18-19. He got divorced, but he bounced back. seems good with money, not saying he was perfect but his actions showed me discipline. He has a 2006 GMC truck, that he's had since like 2007. Doesn't dress like he's rich, and doesn't spend like he's rich either. He has like a 14 year old Pioneer Plasma.

New Orleans can be cheap, and it can be expensive. Where I live, rent is $900. There are places ~10 miles from me that cost $300-500k, and places in new orleans proper that run 1 million.

A "regular" house is like 120k. The problem is very few people here pull 50k gross. And if they do, you can tell. They flaunt it.

So because you had a bad experience you give up on something? Who sounds like a novice? All women manipulate that is your fault if you fell for the okie doke! The woman I lived is now my wife. We will celebrate 10 years of marriage this year. Also we lived together for a very long time. She knew about my BS and I knew about hers. I stated 2 years in my post because the only people that can hide for that long are sociopaths. You will make the decision on whether you want to deal with her baggage or not. Better for you to know before you put a ring on it.

I you might want to reevaluate that stance but hey man do you. Maybe you should do a better job of vetting the women you deal with. The gentleman that the OP discussed may have vetted his women maybe not. Maybe he was on some BS and they did not want to deal with that. You can be as spiritual as you want but that does not have anything to do with finding out early if the woman you want to be with is a slob or not.

doesn't mean you need to buy a $500K house or send your kids to expensive private schools

Soon enough, we're going to have dudes on here talmbout "You know, a million dollars a year aint really much to live on"

Knowing damn well most of those dudes who would say that aint even close to touchin a million
Man I swear there was a conversation at work yesterday about this very subject.

A co-worker brought up that one of her neighbors children had won a million dollars in some type of lottery. My boss and other co-workers we like, "ahhhhhh, well a million dollars doesn't go nearly as far as you think it does". "It's 'only' $600k after taxes anyway." They talking like they had 600k to begin with.

These are the same people that complain about not having shyt all day long. Some of these folks have 2nd jobs at department stores to support a lifestyle that they can't afford. And these are people who work in the financial sector...they should know better. We all GS-13s, 14s and 15s in my office. And they act like they don't have any financial knowledge at all.

Someone mentioned earlier in the thread that folks in the DMV don't really have money like that...and they don't. Man people around here are faking hard. Talking about "I got standards". Brand new BMWs; 5 bedroom homes; they won't live in certain areas because it's not considered upscale; they always have to have the 'best' stuff.

People have no self-discipline at all.

his exes arent going to allow him to claim the kids because they have no reason to. they can if they just want to be nice but usually its a big fukk you from most women so thats out. even if he did get the claim them the non custodial parent doesnt get the same tax breaks as the custodial. that wouldnt even help that much. he might not even be paying alimony put CS for more than one kid by two different women will destroy you. he might be taking home only 35% of what he earns.
I see what you are saying, but it's not up to the exes. It's up to the divorce judge to make the ruling. For example, I had 2 children with my ex. When we divorced part of the judges order what that I was able to claim my daughter as a dependent on my taxes, he was allowed to claim my son until he turned 18. That was part of the court order.

I feel you. I don't engage or condone pocket watching, so I have no problem with people spending their money as they personally see fit. And if they want to work a part-time job in order to make additional money, so they can buy expensive things, I say go for it. As long as a person is willing to pay the price for the things they want, and it doesn't cost anyone else other than themselves, I see no problem with people wanting to engage in luxuries.

My only issue is when people intimate that $100K or $120K is somehow peanuts or a non-sustainable wage. That's absolutely ludicrous considering the fact that less than ten percent of individuals make $100K or more per year in terms of salary. And less than twenty percent of households make $100K or over per year in terms of salary.

In fact, a household of three that brings in $124K per year is considered "upper class" per Pew Research.

Here's how much you have to earn to be considered upper class

So, if a person can't eat, sleep and have some fun on $120K, then they're simply bad with money. I don't care where they live. :yeshrug:

And I'm not even saying this from a "you should be grateful to make that much" or hateful standpoint. As my two person household would be considered upper class. And when we get married and have a child, we would still be considered upper class. Whatever that means.

But I just can't understand how people are disregarding reality in this thread :dwillhuh:

Peace

Over half the population is struggling in major metro areas. :what:

If you never lived in places like NY, Miami and Cali you won't get it. Podunk places like Arkansas and other country places you'll live like a king.
Even in Atlanta, 80k goes a long way.
