One of my friends has the :birdman: attitude displayed here about gay rights and he also has the idea that with gay rights would come a gay epidemic that would doom mankind.

It's ridiculous how it's impossible for some to think that there are black lesbians, black gay men, white lesbians, white gay men and etc while also acting as if any of these groups can't also be racist or not be racist. You can be gay and a decent person and you can be gay and a terrible person. That shouldn't stop anyone from going against bigotry though.

Some black people can relate to oppression and injustice all over the world and in America... more than they can relate to gay causes that are happening here in America. Those gay causes don't involve economic, racial, ethic, or violent oppression on a large scale... so it's difficult to get behind a lifestyle that only affects a few people - that you don't really agree with in the first place.

The "gay epidemic" is hilarious, and out right silly...

That said, if 100% of the worlds population was gay(absurd I know, stay with me), it would mean the end of our species...

this doesn't seem very natural to me *shrug*.

Sure, but why should those that engage in this sexual behavior specifically be discriminated against?

That is another topic altogether. The Civil Rights Movement's goal was equal treatment of all citizens under the law. The Gay Rights Movement's goal is to redefine social relationships specifically for homosexuals/transgender people.

The movements are not equivalent in any way, shape or form.
