My folks just went back down there to handle some issues with their crib. They did have some flooding from Helene, but the house was fine because it was built to the new code. They're not in Tampa, but still in the sweet spot of fukkry. Hopefully it weakens a bit, but it's gonna be dicey.

It’s looking like it might be a direct hit on Sarasota, which is going to be tough because they seem have flooding even with regular rain events.

It will be interesting to see how st Pete beach fairs considering the damage from the last storm.

Ive been getting notifications that they are cutting water and sewage sometime today. Going to suck for those who stay.

Also evac wise, people don't need to leave Florida for Georgia, they can stay in-state, they just need to get away from the coast as much as possible from the storm surge which could be 15-20 feet. Although I bet a ton of hotels rooms are already booked for 1-2 night stays.
