Is the water cool in the gulf or something?

I don’t see how they have this dying down to a 3/4 before landfall

Nope, water are hot, but there is shear north of Florida that will interact with it and weaken it some and then after it passes Florida is will be extra tropical and out to sea

Also like I said before, beast hurricanes like this usually undergo eyewall replacement cycles which weakens storms as well

I didn't even know the storm formed yet, let alone become a CAT 5. I thought it would get organized over the next few days. This is is utterly ridiculous. We are going to die brehs.

@Boujee Bonita Braxton, remember what I said; if I tell you to leave, you need to leave

Got you, Daddy.

If any Floridians don't want to leave their house, while stupid, there is a few things you need to understand:
  • Have yourself an Axe to bust through the roof of your home, else you will drown in it like many Katrina victims.
  • Write your personal identification on your body to identify you if you die.
  • Expect no help for the next 24 Hours, as Rescue Teams will ensure their operations are stable before they can help.
Its why many people need to get their ass inland, away from the coasts.

Winds now up to 180 mph, pressure down to 905 mb

Now stronger than Irma, Dorian, Michael, Opal, Hugo, Ivan, Isabel, Andrew, and Maria

Matching Mitch and Dean

Now 4 mb away from being stronger than Katrina

Was Katrina the strongest? I'm also seeing some mention Wilma. Not sure what pressure was when both hit land. Hopefully this weakens to a 3 by time it lands. Not sure how the conditions are looking.

Camille was the strongest to hit, 190mph.

Addendum: 1935 Labor Day Hurricane was supposedly worse, but data instruments weren't that developed yet.
