From the NWS in Tampa

“Major Hurricane Milton is now an extremely strong Cat 5 hurricane
with winds up to 175 mph. Milton will grow in size as it heads
towards the West Coast of Florida as a disastrous hurricane. Milton
is expected to weaken slightly but will still be a major Cat 3
hurricane at landfall with destructive damage expected on Wednesday.
Storm Surge along and south of the track will be life threatening
and catastrophic. If you are asked to evacuate you need to do so.
This storm surge will be life threatening. The high winds will also
cause widespread and major damage as the eyewall tracks through the
state. If you are outside of the storm surge area and decide to stay
you need to have supplies to last for a week or more without power
or water.

Bottom line: If Milton stays on its course this will be the most
powerful hurricane to hit Tampa Bay in over 100 years. No one in the
area has ever experience a hurricane this strong before.

Florida native here, my Louisiana, Bama and Texas folks can attest:

This shyt not ordinary, way too many damn Category 4 and up storms going on, then bytches is supposed to be a once a decade (if that) ocurrence.

Tin foil hat bout to get dusted off with the quickness
Yeah a cat 4 was usually once every 10 or so years. A cat 5 is once every 50 or so years regardless of where it hit. Florida was hit with a cat 5 twice in 5 years (Michael 2018, Ian in 2022).

Yeah I’m hollering at Delta now

Miami area may be open but i doubt ones up north like tampa and Orlando would be, depending on where you were planning to fly to. Of course i don't think planes can even fly in a hurricane like that. Well they can go around it but I'm sure lot of flights gonna have changes later this week.

Climate change, Scientist have been warning for decades this would happen if we did nothing about it. in the next 50 years or so florida and other coastal areas will be inhabitable because of frequent major hurricanes like this and rising sea levels.

States like florida keep electing republicans that dont care about it, Now yall will have to find somewhere else to live soon. They did it to themselves. :yeshrug:

Governor been republican for past 25 years. Not sure if that's the longest for any of the states tho.
