New Great Migration - Wikipedia
The New Migration has seen scores of non-southern black families and persons return to the South. California is not close to being alone in this phenomenon. Our ancestral roots in this country, are in the South. Go to any major non-southern city, and its rare to find black families that have been there over 100 years. We are all from the South, many of us have elected to return...

Its why I'm a STRONG advocate for black people staying in California. The South is nice, but everything that glitters isnt gold. We helped build California the same way we helped build everywhere else here...
According to the '23 ACS, there are 371,026 fewer black people in the US in '23, than in '20. So not a huge decline, but a decline nonetheless...That’s less than 12% the Black population even with the tethers is shrinking
Phoenix is neck-and-neck with Vegas as the #2 West Coast black mecca...Interesting
