Yea they shoulda kicked the fg ahead of the 2 min warning and I don’t think that’s revisionist.

Teams should look at an onside kick as worse odds than a Hail Mary. It’s just not happening

Edit: I thought I may be exaggerating but this is actually true :picard:

The success rate of an onside kick in the NFL is currently very low, typically around 5-7%

According to ESPN, the success rate of a Hail Mary pass in football is around 9.7%

Did we watch the same game?

The offensive-line was terrible, but some of those sacks were 100% on Stroud not getting rid of it. Some of the sacks he kept running backwards.

Some of that is on the coach. I looked at some of those route trees and at the time CJ was under pressure, the receivers were still bunched in the same area. With that type of heat you gotta give the QB a quick release option on every play.

This just wasn’t the Texans year. If you watched them all season same issues popped up weak offensive line, limited offensive weapons once Tank Dell & Diggs went down and a linebacker who can’t cover in space. Next year gotta go all out while Stroud still on his rookie deal.

This is all fools gold. Whoever wins tomorrow night is going to the Super Bowl. They’ll be able to actually put up points against the Chiefs.

Ravens remember that week 1 game and the Bills already know they can beat them.

This is why im actually grateful the refs helped sealed the deal lets say.

If Chiefs lost today it wouldve been about rust and should they have rested their starters. CJ and the Texans wouldnt have gotten any credit.

But when Lamar or Allen beat Mahommes and the Chiefs, new legends, new goats and new narratives will be made:wow:

Lamar might be in the goat discussion now. Allen or Lamar will be recognized as the best QB in the league finally. Even though both have been better than Mahommes for 2 seasons now.

The Yay
Nope

They still had 2 timeouts.

Could have waited for the 2 minute warning (also a timeout), then ran 1 or 2 pass plays to the endzone....without running much clock....clock stops after incompletions, obviously.

At the very least, they get a FG with at least 1:40 and 2 timeouts under their belt.....with a chance to get the ball back.

Instead, they panic and rush a play that could have been better prepared had they waited till after the 2 minute warning.

These scenarios should be ingrained in a head coach's head.

I'm glad you are not coaching :mjlol:
I didn't even realize they have two timeouts left

And damn right I ain't coaching shyt when I have a blunt worth of kush and henny in my system :pachaha:

It's nearly impossible to have a successful onsides kick with the element of surprise gone now. They need to change it back to the old way.

Mixon only got 18 carries even though he was averaging 5 yards a clip :mjlol:

Think he got one touch in the 4th quarter

Demeco switching to that dog ass zone in the 2nd half even though the Chiefs looked like ass and allowed Kelce back-breaking first downs

Whole coaching staff needs to be looked at in Houston :camby:

NFL/Goodell with the help of the refs giving fans what we really want next week.

Meanwhile Adam Silver continues to allow a barrage of threes nightly with no end in sight:sas1:
