Kareem would get exploited big time defensively against this Warriors team. Subpar P&R D and lethargy getting back in transition against the greatest offense of the modern era (arguably of all time) would largely offset anything he does in the post. He's not going off for 50 with today's zone principles against a team that swarms better than any in recent memory anyway.

People making a big deal about Curry not being able to guard Magic, but lmao at the thought of Magic guarding him or even Klay for that matter. Both would need to be hidden.

Not really Kareem was still quite a good defender in his later years.

He absolutely would. Can you imagine older Kareem having to guard a Curry/Dray P&R? And his laziness getting back in transition is a valid criticism that would get him blown up against Green who repeatedly pushes the ball up the floor.

You guys aren't looking at this from every angle. It's a lot more complex than "Kareem/Magic/Worthy>>>>>" these guys have weaknesses than can and would get exploited by another ATG team.
Kareem was finals mvp at the age of 38. Not seeing how age hinders him at all.

Why would Kareem be guarding Dray on a PnR?? If the warriors went super small so could the Lakers...

Current Warriors would beat bulls teams of the 90's.

But I think they would struggle immensly with kobe/shaq dynasty of the early 2000's

Then the Lakers best perceived matchup advantage would be off the floor while the Warriors roll out their very best lineup. This is where the "Kareem is gonna average 40" stuff gets delusional b/c he would become a defensive liability and the Lakers would have to counter by going small themselves.

It hinders his defensive mobility and ability to cover ground against a team that spreads you out, makes you run the court on every possession and pulls big men out of their comfort zone out to the three point line. This really isn't a BBQ matchup for Cap like people are implying here.

nikkas up here mad as fukk... knowing Damn well 15 , 20 years later you going to tell the new generation that so and so couldn't beat the warriors in my era

Some people are just allergic to the present.

I still remember when cats were saying Section 80 was x100 better than GKMC when it came out. Everybody else was hype and excited while others had the :wtb: face going on because it just wasn't Section 80.

Section 80 was better :yeshrug:

Honestly if somebody were to say that now and believed it, I have nothing wrong with that.

I'm talking mainly about people who will 90% of the time say something is better "back in the day" or go complete hipster and say some obscure shyt is better for the simple sake of it not being as popular.

I can completely see cats say how much of a legend and better Drake in 10 years when another singing rapper dominates the charts knowing they can't stand the guy today.

The 80s Lakers and Celtics were definitely the most talented teams ever. I don't know if they'd blow them out but they would definitely be favored.
