@DTheKingpin
Two of the biggest pushers of the “DEI hysteria” were Vivek and Elon. And they (along with others) made people actually believe that there was this wave of Black people who were getting jobs that we didn’t deserve. It was never true. Statistically other groups benefitted FAR more from DEI than Black people. But they convinced you otherwise and (some of) you went along with it. Now Vivek tells you that if you care about American jobs going to American workers, that’s the equivalent to DEI.
Do you see how much of a SCAM the hysteria was the entire time? Instead of having conversations about legitimate concerns with “DEI” as currently understood, they weaponized many of you against the entire IDEA of diversity and inclusion. Only to turn around and tell you that you don’t deserve a seat at the table either. Black people are always a canary in the coal mine. Elites will abuse you the same way they abuse us. It never fails. Get it through your heads. Either we win together or we lose together. Wake up.

This is an important point. In all my time with the US government there was never pressure to hire or promote unqualified “DEI” employees over others. The pressure was to ensure these candidates got due consideration. Surprise, surprise! Many were more qualified when actually considered. If you ensure equal access and treatment, DEI isn’t harmful but better for the organization.

I don't think Elon or Vivek made people believe anything. DEI is toxic and stupid. What we could use is a program that doesn't look at race or gender but at economics with regard to acceptance into universities. That would be a more fair way to go. And in the end, I think you'd get the diversity for which you're looking.

Black people will always be canaries in the coal mine yet other minorities don't listen.
'First they came for the Black folks, but I was a "model minority"
Then they came for the Muslims, but I was "one of the good ones"
Then they came for the "illegal immigrants," but I came "the right way"
Then they came for H1B visas...
And we tried to tell y'all.
'
History really does rhyme. The same playbook, different decade

Yes. DEI essentially gives everyone except white males the opportunity to hire (or even bring in for an interview) anyone within their protected sex/race/gender etc. All becomes self-fulfilling. Ultimately, the desired "diversity" becomes departments devoid of it.

Mostly agree with you, especially with your final point — Either we win together or we lose together — but I’m just not sure Vivek’s recent comments position him as some kind of witting scam artist. Is it possible he’s just sloppy on this topic, like a lot of people seem to be?

When did immigration become the enemy. Immigration is what this nation is built on. Allowing anyone with a pulse in the country with no rules and no limits across an unsecured border is a totally different thing than visas for talented immigrants. Why is this a controversy?

The same thing is true about Affirmative Action. It benefited more white women than Black Americans. Consequently, the time has come for every Black American descended from enslaved people to receive REPARATIONS.
If you object, consider:
Homesteads.
GI Bill
Farm Subsidies

Lmfao YOU think black people are who they meant with DEI. You are part of the racism problem in America. No one assigned a color to DEI. DEI is about putting people in jobs based on non qualifying characteristics over higher qualified candidates. See how race plays no part in that definition? Now to be fair we did have the highest profile DEI hire in the country running for president.

it's really sad and pathetic at the same time, that as you pointed out these two men and others made it anti black anything and degraded black pilots and even some of the c00n Republicans went along with it. All along it was a plot to push more foreign nationals to come here and now since they said Americans are lazy, people are upset. Many of us always tell white Republicans especially, when folks start attacking black Americans it's a set up as well that white Americans will be attacked. From drugs, jobs and freedom. These two men have coned the right wing. Now, going into the new year I hope this "romance" ends soon.

@HowTheWestWS
Ethnic Black Americans must homogenize into their own protected spaces. The dollar is far too inequitable & we should be making better collective progress. This system is going to push the masses further into poverty and it’s been happening since slavery “ended”.
[Quoted tweet]
Diversity and healthy immigration can be a great thing but we should not be allowing foreign elitists to extract as much wealth as they can by outsourcing work & importing workers to depress wages and conditions of existing American communities.

I have noticed DEI,but commonly with the over-representation of women (I am a woman). I work in a good company, but have noticed it to be maybe 70/30 or 80/20 women.They talk a very big game on DEI. I am far less qualified than my husband, but got a job easier which pays more.
