I actually thought she would have been turned off by him kissing her like that, because it was inappropriate and it was something that Don would never do.

Yeah but remember last season or was it season 3, the night Don and Peggy got drunk together at the office and Peggy asked how come Don never came on to her, it bothered her that Don smutted out every women he came across except Peggy. It might not even be that he came on to her but the fact someone finally did, it made her feel special. The funny thing is, IMO the only reason Don has never come on to Peggy is because she is the only female Don actually respects. The reason he is so cold to her at times is because Don sees himself in Peggy.

Interestingly, last season Peggy & Joan both made their power moves in the same episode (resigning & asking for a partnership, respectively), and now Don has unwittingly undermined them both in the same episode... and in the show's timeline, it hasn't even been that long since they made these power moves & they've already had the rug pulled from underneath them :bryan:

Business-wise, they'll be better off with chevy/the merger (which is the only thing Don could see & why he expected both women to be happy at the news), but the tradeoff (and what he couldn't see) is that it undercut the symbolic significance of what they did last season :whoo:

i disagree. don was the one who tried to tell joan not to do that shyt. don was heated at rog and pete when he found out about all that. no one held a gun to joans head. the deal was if she slept with dude, the company would get the jaguar account and she would be made partner. she was made partner so what the fukk is she bytchin about. it wasnt all for nothing....

lol don was too happy when rog first told him about the chevy opportunity. its so rare to see don smile that it actually sticks out when he does.

and lol at the look on peggys face when she saw don in her bosses office.

but i wonder how this shyt is gonna work? seems like there splitting the pie too many ways now

but for real can this show get any better? like for real, can it?

Regardless of whether or Don was against it or not, he reaped the benefits of it. It's not like he said, turned down the job or the money that came with it. She's right, she put up with dude, why couldn't he? And she was definitely right about how he was always talking about what he would do, never really a team player. What's a million dollars in today's money? 4.5?

Joan spit that ETHER to don though, and she was a thousand percent correct...

BUT Don out of everyone told Joan not to sleep with him, he was always against it and she still did it for her gains and now look. She played the game and now she has to deal with it.

i guess i see both sides of it. i understand joan being mad at don especially for not talking with her or the other partners about getting rid of a client (don made 2 bold moves this episode without any of the other partners consent.) but i just feel like hypothetically if you gave joan the chance to go back in time and sleep with jaguar dude KNOWING he wouldnt be a client for long she would still do it for that partnership/money.

For this I had to side with Joan.

Don threw away a huge client, which would have lost them a lot of money because he couldn't stand dude. Didn't talk to anybody, essentially told him to fukk off at dinner, no one found out until the next day when Ken got that call.

Dude merged with another firm, didn't talk to anybody, check out how it would work out financially, what the power structure would be, just showed up the next day like, we merged with the company headed by the dude I wanted to beat the shyt out of less than 12 hours ago.

He does shyt like that and says "I'll fix it." No thoughts on how it would effect the team. He can take those risks because he's rich as fukk, he's got the charm and smarts to make it work.

Everyone else can't, their livelihoods lay in the hands of a dude that gives no fukks because he can deal with the consequences.
