Peeped it yesterday. I dont care much for the og trilogy. End of road warrior was crack though

@TheGodling :umad:

Neither the original nor Thunderdome is on par with The Road Warrior, everyone knows that, but I think Thunderdome generally gets a bad rep because it's such a different movie. And you can keep mentioning the end of Road Warrior but the whole movie is crack, breh. If you can't appreciate the perfection of the opening scene, I don't know what to tell you.

Best action movie in years.

The pace, intensity, and visual style were great, but above all else the emotional connection I had to the movie was much more significant than most action movies. Things were dark as fukk in that world but you had some hope. Max convincing Charlize to go back to fight had me damn near :mjcry:.

I looked up the spray paint thing, and still don't get it.

I still don't get what Valhalla was supposed to be either.

Valhalla is Valhalla, the afterlife. The place Immortan Joe tells them where they will go if they die gloriously in battle, where they can ride eternally shiny and chrome. That's why they're all willing to die for him. The spray paint thing is a ritual that 'prepares' them for the ride into Valhalla. shyt is all made-up mythology, breh.

Spraying chrome paint is for two reasons. 1.) it is the War Boys cultural/ religion tradition right before committing themselves to kamikazi type suicide in the act of battle. 2.) they are huffing the paint which gets them a dramatic high. Most likely to rev up the courage to commit themselves to do a suicidal act.

Valhalla = the afterlife.

It was probably a good thing that I didn't know what the paint was for, of what Valhalla was.

It added to my confusion and enhanced the irate experience of watching the film. I was tense for the whole movie due to uncomfortability, confusion, and disgust.

I think that's what the directors were going for? Making the viewer feel angst. They did well. :ehh:

I wouldn't watch it again though

man fukk a subtext :pacspit:.. the problem is you really believe that the movie is so great and so much better all because they forced you to you have to pick up clues and pay attention to details in order to piece together a backstory and a lot of parts of the plot....when in reality, had they explained plot or given a backstory to the characters, not just Fury Road, but all of the MadMax movies woulda been better especially when you have so much shyt going on at one time where the movie is moving at such a fast pace and its hard to notice every little detail(in Fury Road more than any other film out the Max series)..

Instead nikkas gotta watch the movie 3 and 4 times and come up with theories to explain a bunch of shyt thats really unprovable.. What the fukk were the visions of the little girl Max kept seeing? What silly little piece of subtext did miss there?? Especially when it could've easily been explained in less than 30 seconds... But I guess thats me wanting to be "spoon fed" for a movie a just spent over $30 to watch

you really have no critical thinking skills. I BARELY remember the original films and EVERY thing was easy to pick up on. :what:

Setting: Post-Apocalyptic world, where clearly people suffer from radiation poisoning and leukemia (hence why nikkas need blood transfusions constantly, tumors ect) I mean...we know that really only one or two things could cause such an event and is prolly nukes...which means radiation everywhere...that shyt is totally revealed to you in the first 30 seconds where they show a damn two headed lizard...

Protagonists: Max (who doesn't need to talk much because he's just a vessel for which we experience everyone else) Furiosa (kidnapped from her all woman tribe and finally had the chance to abscond the wives from Immortan Joe. No need to show her past because you can infer. Prolly raped many times, clearly a fighter, natural leader, lost an arm being a bad bytch at some point.)

Antagonist: Immortan Joe (death cult leader, because he controls the water he controls the fate of everyone in the Citadel, created the cult of personality around him to get War Boys to scour the wasteland for resources/women/ect. CLEARLY obsessed with creating healthy heirs to keep his line and control going. So much to a point he would take a baby out of a dead women just to have it.)

And you didn't get Max's visions...the shyt is explained in like the first 10 mins of the film...its his daughter who died. And he couldn't save her. When you see a woman crying you don't need some narrator or some dude to run up on you and say "ah yes this is the infamous crying girl of west philly she sheds tears for ever lover she loses" or some fukk shyt...only thing you need to empathize is "she is crying....she must be sad."

Did you nikkas even go to school? :heh:

nikka all im saying was the movie could've been more than a high paced 2 hour long car chase.. Everything about the world, protagonist, and antagonists is merely suggested, instead of actually visualized through flashbacks/dialogue.. For example Why not actually SHOW the scene of Charlize getting kidnapped or losing her arm, while she's talking about it? Or what the green place looked like? Stuff like this adds to the movie instead of just allowing the viewer to look out for clues, figure ot out, and imagine it in their heads... Thats great that you guys figured everything out with yall immense critical thinking skills, but that shyt doesn't make the movie deep or better whatsoever in any way

Because its cliche as hell not to mention some shyt you just don't need to waste film on...would some random ass kidnapping scene or seeing her lose an arm really make you connect any more? No...you never been kidnapped and you never lost an arm...you cant relate at all. It doesn't compel you at all to connect.

When Star Wars dropped you didnt say "Man...I REALLY wanna see how darth vader got that nebulizer on his face." you didn't care...you just knew he was ill as fukk he choked nikkas with his thoughts and he was handy with that light saber. It didn't matter.
