The Expendables? What in the fukk?

And honestly, there's more in this script than in any Expendables flick. Just because the plot isn't contrived bullshyt existing solely to move the characters from one rehashed set piece to the next, doesn't mean the script isn't smaller.

It's a tighter script, but it tells you plenty about the world without actually stating anything.
there was nothing to tell about the world.. its obvious its a post apocalyptic shyt hole.. Theres no character development or backstory to anything thats going on whatsoever.. nothing telling you WHY all these unique character are the way they are.. Only action( plot being a non stop car chase) .. and oh I guess "symbolism" :childplease: and this enough for you silly nikkas to say Movie of the year or.... decade :skip: fukk outa here.. the only thing you get is the bytch with one arm was kidnapped as a child.. What happened to her arm?.. what has she been doing besides moving product? Whats going on in those Madmax flash backs?. Why is Max strapped to a fukking car?? What are them albino nikkas spraying on their teeth?? The nikka with the mask was a very interesting character but was reduced to a generic bad guy with no backstory to his rise to power or anything telling about why he's wearing a fukking mask in the first place .. who was the old bytch at the beginning?? Movie could've been truly epic with out the same setting over an over.. Car chase.. stop for a second.. car chase again.. stop again.. car chase until the movie ends.. you dont even see what becomes of the girls and all the peoples at the end besides them getting on the lift

Fail to pick up subtext, brehs.

The movie gives you hundreds of reasons why the characters may have ended up the way they are, the problem is you don't pick them up because they don't flat out tell you.

To give you a clue, I shall use the bolded as an example:

They do tell you why he wears a mask because they show right at the beginning his body is cancerous and dying, so obviously he's weak and needs it for his health. His two sons are genetically imperfect, hence why he breeds with female slaves in an attempt to create strong healthy offspring. That immediately explains what his goals are and why he's willing to risk all his men to get those women back. If you have to wonder about his rise to power, why do you think that when they put on his outfit (the plastic fake muscle suit), it's covered in medals? And one of his associates (the Bullet Farmer) drives a car with tank treads and encourages his men with military-like commands? You're supposed to pick up these guys have a military background and are basically Colonel Kurtz in the post-Apocalypse Now. But again, if you're waiting for the movie to flat-out tell you things instead of putting the pieces together yourself, that's on you.

Clearly you cannot comprehend visual storytelling nor get that not all films need a full out backstory, ESPECIALLY when it comes to Mad Max... if you want a backstory for Mad Max then watch previous Mad Max movies.

But shyt like why Mad Max is strapped onto the car, why the War Boys spray chrome paint in their mouths, or the concept behind Immortan Joe portraying as a false god truely means you are incapable to dissect the film visually and you need to someone to spoon feed you dribble dialogue for you to understand.

man fukk a subtext :pacspit:.. the problem is you really believe that the movie is so great and so much better all because they forced you to you have to pick up clues and pay attention to details in order to piece together a backstory and a lot of parts of the plot....when in reality, had they explained plot or given a backstory to the characters, not just Fury Road, but all of the MadMax movies woulda been better especially when you have so much shyt going on at one time where the movie is moving at such a fast pace and its hard to notice every little detail(in Fury Road more than any other film out the Max series)..

Instead nikkas gotta watch the movie 3 and 4 times and come up with theories to explain a bunch of shyt thats really unprovable.. What the fukk were the visions of the little girl Max kept seeing? What silly little piece of subtext did miss there?? Especially when it could've easily been explained in less than 30 seconds... But I guess thats me wanting to be "spoon fed" for a movie a just spent over $30 to watch

I don't usually watch/like these types of flicks but cot damm this shyt had me hooked from the first scene. It could have been a longer movie imo, but I still enjoyed it. I hope the sequel hooks up Max and Furiousa again. I wasn't feeling the guitar guy as much as everyone else, but I loved the score for the film. My only complaint would be that there could have been more blood and gore.

4.5/5

I think I'll be yelling "I had a brother, and he was perfect in every way!" for the next year.

I feel the exact opposite of you. It was very refreshing for a movie to treat me like I am intelligent for once. We're constantly spoon-fed exposition. Most directors assume the audience is dumb and needs to be told everything. It's insulting. We don't need everyone's backstory, and a corny monologue about their motivations and emotions. That's not how we interact with each other in real life. I love that this director assumes the audience is intelligent enough to pick up on things, and allows us to draw our own conclusions. Yes, there were many things that were not explained by the film, but there were also many, many hints, and other things that just begged for more exploration in the future. I love that!

I don't believe anything, I know the movie is great because I'm a film connoisseur extraordinaire, whereas you seem thoroughly bothered by the fact that the filmmakers were actually expecting a bit of attention from you instead of throwing ten minutes of explosions and ten minutes of expository dialogue in repeated intervals at you.

You see, you don't gotta watch the movie 3 or 4 times to understand it, I can say I got most of it in the first viewing. I chose, didn't have to, but chose to see it multiple times because it is that good and I wanted to see if there's more hints and clues I didn't pick up at first. Which is the true joy of film, that you can catch something new and exciting about it and get an entirely different point of view with a repeated viewing.

The girl Max kept seeing was obviously a girl he lost. This is dead obvious from how the visions play out. This also explains why he doesn't want other people around and didn't want to give his name, because he's afraid of them becoming more voices in his head telling him that he's failed them. It's all there and it doesn't need more explanation than you get in the movie because most people easily picked up on that.

Funny you said you wish it was longer when the film is 2hrs long. But that time just be flying by.

:heh:You nikkas aren't intelligent though.. nikkas gotta watch the movie 3-4 times and google shyt to pick up on everything going on.. ITS A fukkING ACTION MOVIE.. im looking to just enjoy the fast pace action.. shyt was moving from scene to scene at lightning speed, you barely have time to access whats going on since shyt is barely being explained.. fukk trying to look for different clues and symbolism to try and figure a plot thats not even deep at all, just unexplained just for the sake being mysterious.. Im sure its a simple reason why the bytch has one arm or what was Max dreaming about? Let us actually see what happened to his family or whoever those were in his dreams. We dont even know.. All the characters seemed very interesting yet the movie tells you little to nothing about them.. just vague for the sake of being vague.. why we couldn't see what the "green place" looks like before it turned into a mud puddle as she's explaining that she got kidnapped

At the end of the day, a lot of folks liked it, and you didn't. I mean, there's really nothing to argue about. You don't see the same value in it that we do. It's cool.
