This movie felt like a mashup of David Lynch (if lynch could dream of directing action on this level) and that Wacky Races cartoon that used to come on cartoon network in the way that there were so many interesting characters to look at and each car had their own little "super power", the blind fury bullet farm guy and that other dude with the bulging feet and metal nose

I guess I can kinda see the Lynch thing :yeshrug: but I got a Jodorowsky vibe, specifically El Topo.

It's been a while, probably a few months since a movie had me on the first scene but this one did. It's gorgeous, it's violent, it's gritty, while being both nihilistic and optimistic at the same time. All of the action stems from story and character, every character has understandable motivation and sometimes its developed without dialogue, which is also very dope.

I also love how Max is really a bystander until the 3rd act. He's not the person who sets the chain of events off, he's not the main person holding the fort down until he's ready to join the world really. It's themes of guilt, redemption, feminism, and forgiveness are really evident and thoroughly developed and the movie is better for it. Hardy is dope but Theron is even doper. What makes Hardy so dope in the movie is how he barely has any lines but says so much through his body language and eyes. He's a guy who just wants to move on with his life and not be caught up in someone else's drama and he looks like it the whole movie; he just wants his car, his jacket, and wants to be left alone and it's so dope how he conveys all of that without really saying anything.

It's funny without being over the top and winking, and it's definitely one of the best action flicks of the decade, not just the year or last year. I need this movie in my life everyday in order to make it a lovely day.

They were gonna build a draft house in NYC near where me and my girl live and suddenly the coming soon sign was gone :to:

Homie, if you can get to one, do it. The grilled chicken sandwich (royale with cheese) that I had this afternoon was possibly the best tasting grilled chicken sandwich I've had in 2 years

Yet a certain someone would spite me for having seen it six times already. :sas1:

And for the record, when I argued it might be the movie of the decade I wasn't exaggerating either. :sas2:
