Don't personally enjoy his music, but Macklemore just gained a new fan. Regardless of color, authenticity seems to be extremely rare in hip hop these days. Everyone is trying to be the person they've portrayed themselves as in their raps and what not, it's refreshing to see someone whose had the success that Macklemore has achieved be willing to be completely transparent and share his views on such a polarizing topic, knowing damn well that the majority of his fan base probably doesn't feel the same way.

Nah that was annoying. "White" guilt in general is annoying. fukk that apologetic shyt, it's one of the reasons people question his authenticity.

^If he was gonna show love to kendrick he should have done it like that.

In the interview he ADMITTED he was wrong and should of done it but froze and punked out. It takes a man to admit his faults and the exactly confessing as to why he was in the wrong. Dude is a real dude. Or maybe you haven't yet listened to the whole interview.

I haven't watched it and i'll probably wait for the cliff notes.

I already thought of him as being good peoples and I figured him "punking out" was the case, doesn't change the fact that the shyt was ghei and left the door open for people to question his zeal for this MC shyt.

I think it's cool that they are building on a real topic though, and hopefully people who formed opinions on him without much info can gain a little more insight on how to see him as a person and artist.

I mean I was feelin half the shyt he says but fukk him for not standing up for himself and his music.

Exactly.

can you not see the direction of the conversation, the roles they take on and predictability of it? seems like a public service announcement because a lot of people need the dialogue to get them up to speed with the progressive voice of mass consciousness

This is why I always thought the Mack hate was over the top. Duke genuinely cares about and partakes in the culture. Im not a fan of his music either but I'm glad people aren't too stubborn to listen and give him a second chance.
