Yoooo quick question: How bad is the violence in the movie? My child’s mom and I are considering seeing this tonight, and whether it would be more convenient to bring out 7 year old. Granted we don’t normally have him sitting thru some wild shyt, but he’s watched a couple of older Child’s Play flicks, the most recent Halloween, both Happy Death Days...
compared to the flicks you named, especially CP and Halloween, Ma is tamer. There's no real, real violence outside of like 1-2 scenes (and 1 scene is alluded in the trailer already). I'd say it's on par with Happy Death Day, but with more blood, if that makes sense.

I've been in a fire. You aren't talking or screaming though a fire. Your eyes aren't going to be wide open. You SURE as shyt aren't walking upstairs to lie down next to your dead beloved. In fact, since toxins rise from the bottom to the top (carpets, floor cleaners, etc), Ma wouldn't have even made it up the stairs. She would've passed out waaaay before that. IIRC, flames don't usually kill people - smoke inhalation does.

Trailer definitely had me thinking it was something else. I enjoyed the surprise though. I think the plot was good, but execution was meh. Especially the end, it was too rushed imo.
