ive been listening to it all damn day and yea its growing on me to damn near favorite status.

Word, F&L, The Cool and F&L II are all around the same level but I put F&L II ahead of them by a little so far.

The only album I bought with my own money is "Life is Good". Is this competing with that?

You know when Nas dropped Nastradamus and everyone thought he was finished and then he put out Stillmatic? Well, Lasers is Lupe's Nastradamus and Food & Liquor II is his Stillmatic.

Life is Good and Food & Liquor II are the best albums this year to me, but you gotta listen for yourself.

I'm almost a Nas stan and this album is at least equal to or greater than Life is Good.

A higher percentage of people can relate to this shyt right now.

I love Life is Good but I don't want to hear Nas talk about divorce throughout most of the album. For me the lasting impression of Life is Good is the Nas hurt from divorce, rather than the one who pushed everything aside and said Life is Good. All of the songs where he got over the divorce all came before the ones where he touches on it, sequentially.

A lot like how the Nas I see when I think of It Was Written is more-so the Nas who was talkin about slavery and if he ruled the world and all that... rather than the whole Nas Escobar persona.

There's a point in every Nas album where hes just real with you, and shows you what is behind Nas Escobar and Nasty Nas. And that Nas is who I see when I think of the albums. And he made us think this was gon be some Nasty Nas shyt... But it turned out to be songs like "Bye Baby" and "Roses"... "Cherry Wine"

Those are all good music, but to me thats what seperates Life is Good from It Was Written... I don't want to hear songs about divorce all day, and finding love.

That said... I think if the songs were in proper order Life is Good could be a 5 mic album... but as it is I'd say 4.5/5

And this Lupe album is at least 4.5/5.

Listen to this shyt bruh.

its alright and i was lupes biggest fan back in the day his energy seems kind of nonexistant my favorite song is hood now but thats for the beat as well. speaking of which the beats still sound computerized i kinda wish he had more samples or implemented some real instruments.

What's your least favorite?

My favorites so far are Strange Fruition, ITAL, Brave Heart, Put Em Up and It's Hood Now. Loving Unforgivable Youth more and more after each listen, and Lambo Angels is a futuristic sounding banger.

Then cop it...even if you don't like it as much as others, support the dude with your money because his message and what he represents for Black America deserves it...though I'm sure you'll like it if not love it.

my two fav releases this year, with joey bad's tape being the third

You're like 20th person to praise this Joey Bada$$ dude. Ab-Soul brought him out at the Kendrick Lamar concert last Saturday...was feeling it.

Gotta give 1999 a listen. The reviews are glowing and they're always coming from people whose taste in music I respect.

First off, shouts and salutes to the homie Big Businees, AKA You Must Spread More Rep Around Before Repping Him Again

This is much better than that weed plate Lasers, but you nikkas are overrating the fukk out of this album. I enjoyed it, but this in no way, shape, or form is fukking with The Cool. He was truly monstrous on there.

Spot on. My sentiments exactly.

It's a hell of a lot better than Lasers, though, so I'm content. :manny:
