Kendrick isn't dumbed down he gets that he has to get the people to hear the message, Lupe is more concerned with being lyrically dense.

On kendrick, he was able to connect to a wider audience than lupe because kendrick used party songs as a disguise for his music on gkmc. Alot of ppl still dnt understand the main concept of swimming pools...

And how does Kendrick have a bigger vocab than Lupe? That is just your opinion. Vocab doesn't determine if the album is abstract, there are different things that go to it.

Been in the game longer than Kendrick and Kendrick has 4 projects better than him. This album didn't change anything the boy been ahead of wasalu. Lupe is a smart dumb who gives fans listening instructions for his album because we too stupid to get it otherwise

And y'all wonder why people abandoned this dude, he had a core following and had em fighting to get his album out then it turns out to be a trash sham pop album and end of credibility. He still makes good music but his character lacks conviction hence the loss of core fan base.

Difficult decision..

I can essentially bump the whole Tetsuo without any skips...with Kendrick i'm def skippin This dikk Aint Free and U at times.

I love Tetsuo but I still dont fully get alot of whats being said on the record. With TPAB its all pretty straight forward without losing any of its depth. Two very heavy-handed records.

Tetsuo wins up front, but we will see months/years/decades from now.

The only weakness Lupe really has with his music is that it's not personable. He doesn't really share personal shyt in his music. He gives the listener a different perspective on a lot of his content.

You're wrong with your criticism. Lupe's delivery, flow and the sound of his songs/melody has never been a weak point for him.

I think that's lupes biggest fault too that he isn't personable.

Food & Liquor is arguably his MOST cohesive album.
And it's a 2000's classic album along with The Cool.

Those 2 albums had huge clout and influenced a lot of the new gen rappers out today

Lupe struggled with Atlantic for nearly 4 years with dirty label politics and was just satisfied with getting his album release. They butchered Lasers but it was commercial success/critical failure. At the end of the day Lupe still ate off Lasers and still put out music with a message. There was no selling out...
