It will be a while before I compare the two but lupe had some strong songs can't say the whole album was great though. Some of y'all love mural but that Lupe on that song is the rapping version of a run on sentence. I hate when he gets into ramble mode. Lyrics or not he has to learn how to structure songs.

The whole point of Mural is painting pictures with words for 8 mins, literally a mural.

And once you listen to the album & start breaking down the concepts, plots, you'll realize why he places the songs in these spots.

Honestly, when discussing Lupe's albums I can't even put any of his best 3 above or below each other. It's like 1A, 1B, and 1C... they all are excellent, but honestly, I think Food & Liquor Advance with a few of the additions to the retail version would have probably been Lupe's best album hands down

What beats are poppy on Lupe's album?

Most of them. Mural is like the only track which ain't poppy even one bit (not counting those summer/fall/winter/spring interludes with no rapping anyway) everything else is safe poppy production to appeal to everyone, and terrible hooks. Lupe been rapping over wrong production. Reason I don't fukk with his music.

He should spit over beats like this one more often

T & Y has more varied production styles, uses more live instruments. Each song gives a different Genre of music while still pulling off the ability to remain cohesive, while most of TPAB beats sound the same.

If we talking about beats, T & Y def wins that aspect.

All pop beats? Bad hooks? These nikkaz deaf outchea

Lupe always had those Singy type hooks. He chose them wisely this time around

This is the grimiest beat Lupe has EVER rapped on. The grittiest joint this year so far

This is straight up smooth break beat jazzy shyt :banderas:

Where's the pop? :dahell:

This beat is crazy, them drums is kicking... the sax outro :wow:

Y'all can shyt on his abstract lyrics all you want, nikka came correct with the production this album

Nah, T&Y production is for simpletons. As I said, poppy shyt. I can fukk with interludes and Mural at times, rest is weak. Butterfly has varied production across entire album. It has a soul. T&Y is bland and boring.

Fam... :what:

What's poppy about Chopper? Prisoners? Deliver? Hell the entire Fall and Winter sections are full of dark and :demonic: production and music. The only songs you have a case for are Blur My Hands and Dots & Lines, but those still are smooth ass songs with catchy hooks and BARS every verse.

I don't think anything on that album is dark at all. To me dark is something like Hell on Earth, Temples of Boom, Kill The Fetus, Liquid Swords, or some shyt, not T&Y. I don't think you're using right words to describe this album's production. It's pretty damn accessible and poppy. Hooks are trying to be catchy, almost forcing catchiness and ending up corny and bad. To me at least. I don't mind if you like it. Even on straight spittin cypher track like Chopper, it still remains poppy, I can imagine Rihanna singing some shyt on that. But then again I don't like production on any of Lupe's album so whatever.
