Yeah Tetsuo is a name inspired by an anime called Akira. Maybe I should watch that :ehh:
Anyways, yeah there's evidence and lines all throughout the album about the album being in reverse, and reincarnation, character stuck in "the game" (literally & figuratively) type deal.

Plus Lupe tweeted the tracklist upside down before.

aint nobody got time for dat

Naw. You exposed yourself in this thread. Some of your posts in here are legendary level d!ck riding. So epic that I came into listening to this album expecting to REALLY fvcking like it. I was gullible and I kind of deserved to be let down for my naivete. Good album, nothing great. Wayne and Joey sh!t much more enjoyable to me. Sorry, Eggbert.

No need to apologize lol. Your opinion isn't important to me and my views on this being the best album from the best rapper.

But if your ego allows you listen again on the sneak tip and fall in love with an obvious masterpiece, be sure to think about my Geen Ranger avi.

Zig, your taste is damn near impeccable and you're easily one of the best posters on here, but I just don't enjoy this album like some of y'all cats in here are. I like lyricism that "touches" me. Scarface,Nas, Ghost, Beanie Sigel, Pac...them dudes lyrics made me "feel" them. I don't get up, do cartwheels and bounce of walls because I heard some esoteric sh!t that may not really even have a deep meaning. You can make cerebral raps that doesn't always have to be deciphered (Nas, GZA..) and just sounds good. This ain't it to me. And there's no beat on here that is crazy. Nothing I could just throw on without the vocals and have the :scust: face. This album is just good lyrics and good beats to me. Nothing I'd be revisiting too often, bro.
I can accept this
:ehh:

I just feel like with any music, especially with something like this album, the more listens you give it, the more superior it becomes. I'm having a hard time even listening to anything else right now because I keep going back to this, and hearing something else putting the pieces to this all together. Some people just don't want to do that, and I can understand that. As long as you know that it's "good" and didn't just pan it and call it trash like some of the dudes in here.

You're in the minority actually, most people will think J Cole's album is better, as do I. Minority's and majority's aren't necessarily corresponding to quality but it wouldn't be true to say the majority of Hip Hop fans rate this as highly as some in here do. Most people probably prefer J Cole's album, the sales will back this up when it comes down to it, and it's not a case of 1 being super underground, people know Lupe, they just support and like J Cole's shyt more...

I won't even disrespect J.Cole's fantastic album by entertaining a comparison to Tetsuo & Youth. Loved Cole's album though.

But album sales aren't reflective of album quality. I thought you being a fan of a rapper no one cares about named Rhinoceros could appreciate the nuance that goes into the relationship between quality, quantity, popularity and social relevance. Shout outs to @BarNone the nuance king.

:snoop:

J. Cole himself will tell you his album isn't touching this. STOP IT

What do the people think though? Exactly...

Anyone can think it's better, but people trying to make out like every single person feels this way or they are crazy, more people likes J Cole's album better, sorry but it's true...

my current favorite is "no scratches"

it was dots & lines

lupe needs to work like EXCLUSIVELY with nikki jean cuz all 4 songs they've done are fukking FIRE :whew:

You didnt like Troi and Guy Sebastian's hook contributions to the album?

I'll tell you one thing though. I'm sure glad Lupe not rocking with that nikka Pooh Bear for hooks anymore. Man has nearly ruined many a potential classic record. Dude was all over Lasers and messed up like 5 songs :russ:

Something being more popular doesn't mean it's better.

And as I recall, reviewers and critics weren't even that high on that Cole album. It was getting 6s and shyt.

I know that, my point wasn't that they were, as I said in my post. But people are trying to make it out this is a majority opinion, when it quite frankly and clearly isn't. This is a small niche album for a hardcore fan base that likes to go on the internet to make interpretations for lyrics, and the highlight of their musical experience is the artist posting a tweet of the album cover upside down lol. You clearly twisted my point, obviously I know sales don't relate to quality, but you are acting like anyone who don't rate the album as the greatest is crazy and in a tiny minority lol, it's delusion, most people liked J Cole's album better, hate it or love it but it's the way it is.
