Zig, your taste is damn near impeccable and you're easily one of the best posters on here, but I just don't enjoy this album like some of y'all cats in here are. I like lyricism that "touches" me. Scarface,Nas, Ghost, Beanie Sigel, Pac...them dudes lyrics made me "feel" them. I don't get up, do cartwheels and bounce of walls because I heard some esoteric sh!t that may not really even have a deep meaning. You can make cerebral raps that doesn't always have to be deciphered (Nas, GZA..) and just sounds good. This ain't it to me. And there's no beat on here that is crazy. Nothing I could just throw on without the vocals and have the
face. This album is just good lyrics and good beats to me. Nothing I'd be revisiting too often, bro.

I don't even understand that premise. I had enough trouble following The Roots 'Undun' and that had an app to guide the listener.
Because when people make up their mind that they're not gonna like something, they're not gonna like it no matter how obviously amazing it is. Dude went into the listening process with a preconceived negative opinion of the artist, saw ya'll talking about how fantastic it was, sucked his teeth and grumbled on some "Let me see what these nerds are talking baout. I bet it sucks. I just know it sucks. It can't be that damn good.", made no effort to break any of the lyrics down to appreciate the genius, nitpicked everything from the Lupes ad-libs, sound quality of the banjo on Dots/Lines and Ab-Soul's breath control to conclude that it's good but not great. Even the haters can't fix their face to say it's anything less than good. That's when you know you have a winner.
Saw a dude tweet "If you feel this anything less than a masterpiece, just admit you don't like Lupe Fiasco and keep it 100". There's a lot of people in here not keeping it 100 and looking lame in the process. They're in the minority though since even Lu's most staunch contrarians and haters are bigging this album up heavy.

Naw. You exposed yourself in this thread. Some of your posts in here are legendary level d!ck riding. So epic that I came into listening to this album expecting to REALLY fvcking like it. I was gullible and I kind of deserved to be let down for my naivete. Good album, nothing great. Wayne and Joey sh!t much more enjoyable to me. Sorry, Eggbert.

You're in the minority actually, most people will think J Cole's album is better, as do I. Minority's and majority's aren't necessarily corresponding to quality but it wouldn't be true to say the majority of Hip Hop fans rate this as highly as some in here do. Most people probably prefer J Cole's album, the sales will back this up when it comes down to it, and it's not a case of 1 being super underground, people know Lupe, they just support and like J Cole's shyt more...

Dropped a better album than Lupe though, but anywhere that's opinion so whatever. But do the majority think J Cole has a better album and J Cole will sell more and get more support than Lupe? Yes. So if you think he sucks or not truth is truth.
I don't think this will do commercially better than Lasers and apparently that's his worst album according to his fan base...
Yeah Tetsuo is a name inspired by an anime called Akira. Maybe I should watch that
Anyways, yeah there's evidence and lines all throughout the album about the album being in reverse, and reincarnation, character stuck in "the game" (literally & figuratively) type deal.
Plus Lupe tweeted the tracklist upside down before.
