The #1 Rated Mixtape of all Time
Just cause you easily understand Nas doesn't mean he's more lyrical
Ruler, It's okay that you dont like the album and your reason is fair enough but dont say writing "puzzel raps" (if thats what we gonna call it) is easy. The layers of work for a rhyme to fit the rhyme scheme, then fit the bar, fit the first metaphor, maybe fit a second and third metaphor, then fit the story of the verse, fit the story of the song, fit the story of the album both forwards AND backwards is NOT basic.
Like you said, its not for you. You dont feel like listening a couple a times to and try to figure out what he is saying on the record and what the overall theme is. You find it boring but dont try to bring down Lupe's MC abilities. He got the flow, delivery, storytelling, lyrics (even tho you claim its "puzzle rap" there are some quite straight forward raps on the album with good rhyme structure and still having layered metaphors).
So just keep it at that you find the album boring cus you dont feel like taking your time to find hidden messages.
Quick question tho, you mentioned that you felt that the album was 0.5 mic but you still liked some of the beats.
Would you rate for example a Waka Flocka Flame album with the same level of beats higher just because he doesn't do "puzzle rap"?
You're just wrong
I'm a Nas fan, but he hasn't done anything as artistic as Tetsuo and Youth (even the cover art was more artistic than anything than Nas has done)
The Cool (and even T&Y, even though it might be even with Illmatic) lyrically beats anything Nas has released
Lupe used more entendres on T&Y than Nas' whole career, Mural>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
He is deliberately over complicating it to try and appear intelligent and complex, that doesn't make it good or the music good. Complex shyt is better when it's natural not feeling forced, the whole album lyrically feels extremely forced, like it's reactionary to something rather than natural music/writing. Like he's trying to prove a point, all he's gonna do with this is please the people who love puzzle raps, cool, but most people don't like that shyt.

Writing puzzle raps is easy, it's word association, saying a bunch of things then saying it's just a baby because the album covers have babies on them isn't impressive lyrics to me sorry lol. The rhyme to fit the rhyme scheme? "You just a baby?" That is rhymes and a rhyme scheme now?
It's not for me no, nah I don't like that style at all. People are looking for reasons to hype up the album, the whole thing is a reach, it's a real emperor has no clothes situation lol. Nah, because MC abilities on this album I feel are extremely lacking so I will say my opinion about that. I think his delivery is often wack, really wack, lyrics wack, inflections wack, so much wack shyt, just my opinion, enjoy the album if you like it but I'm not gonna lie about my opinion to fit in.
I like some of the the beats, don't remember hearing Waa Flocka before so hard to answer, not sure I ever heard a track of his. But no of course wouldn't rate an album higher simply because it doesn't do puzzle raps, it's about the quality of the work not just the style in which the work is done. Everything should be judged on an individual basis. I will check out Lupe's next project and give praise if I feel it's due, I'm not saying he can't rap, I'm saying I don't think this particular project is dope, I even liked F&L2.
I promise you that there is more people that like Lupe's so called "puzzle raps" then there is K-rino fans.
Still haven't answered this.

Lupe gets props for keeping the same actors around himNot only is Little Death one of the smoothest Hip-Hop song I've hear in recent, but the concept of the poultry we savior, dying a terrible death for our daily consumption; maleficently brilliant
okay. you got an hour. go pen some shyt that we can decipher and actually makes sense once you disclose what it mean. I mean a whole song too b. its easy right breh.
Im here to see this fakkit @The Ruler 09 attempt at doing the "easy raps" he accuses Lupe of doing
Lets see this k rino dikkriding ass fgt do something
Money up to do what? Nikka u write 10 essays on thecoli everyday now u asking for money to show how easy it is to make Lupe-esque rhymes??All put the money up and I will actually do it lol. I could even do a few lol... different concepts thematically to show and prove. Get that pocket money out backcrack lol.
