I really wanted to hear k rino on chopper
"That means I'ma pimp on par
Til I'm six feet under, like it's three nikkaz in a Flinstone car"
Another thing that I've observed over the years is how the guys in that age group don't really acknowledge anybody besides Jay-Z, Pac, Big, Nas, 3Stacks etc as having an influence on their music. The best rapper ever. It's so funny to me when they try and pigeonhole him into "just being a great lyricist". Like he hasn't perfected every style under the sun from swag raps, gangster raps, conscious raps and mainstream hit making ability. Like his flows, diversity, rhyme schemes, concepts and subject material aren't every bit as impressive as his lyrical talents.
The only flaws in his skill set is whether or not you like his music. That's about it, and that's entirely up to your ears and subjective but the prodigious talent and his body of work () is undeniable.
nikkas be tying to add all these goofy superlatives and extra attachments to his name like "Lupe Fiasco is one of the best conscious rappers from Chicago of the last few years" and all this other silliness when the reality is he's simply one of the best rappers of all time PERIOD. But that doesn't go into the phony narratives where you got radio personalities with influence like Charlemagne saying the top tier is Drake, Kendrick, and J.Cole so they gotta dumb down Lu's greatness and make it seem niche. It's transparent and ridiculous. Like any of those guys can hold a candle to him on the microphone.
It makes dudes feel uncomfortable when you say he's the best because that doesn't fit the script of how things are "supposed" to be. A moody, contrarian, rebellious oddball nerdy former thug in glasses who is just as quick to rhyme about robots and animal cruelty as he is about the streets and women does not fit the mold of what the greatest is supposed to look like. People will say "Lupe is too weird and different to be the best" rather than "Lupe is weird and different, but he's the best."

It's like we skipped an entire generation of artists. Goes from Jay-Z to Kendrick... Cole... Drake... as if there wasn't great music between that time period.
dailyYeah..he's definitely going in on Mural but on some real shyt, nearly 9 minutes with no hook? How many times will you go back to it? Really though.
2 more 8+ minute tracks too...sheesh
