As a creative I've always been interested in the way climate effects creative output both as a conceptual device and as a literal influencer. Does temperature effect temperament? Does being exposed to a range of different climates produce an increased variety of themes? Tetsuo & Youth was an experiment in that from the conceptual point of view although I didn't keep strict track of when and where certain verses were written. The majority of #Skulls is being written in the air i.e. on airplanes and it is adding another level to the experiment mostly does altitude effect theme? The answer in that case is yes it does. A high level of pure abstract cross-referenced narrative comes out when I write in the air as opposed to on the ground. For example portions of "Animal Pharm" we're written in the air. It's very interesting how pragmatics can effect abstract syntactical structure while conserving the clarity of semantical narrative. I'm starting a guild for high-level MC's over the next year or so. Its weird when people paint him rapping his ass off on a historically incredible level for 9 straight minutes with no hook as a bad thing when the whole point of the song is him rapping his ass off on a historically incredible level for 9 straight minutes with no hook

And who complains about Prisoner 1 & 2 being too long when both halves are arguably the best songs on the album lol.

Being critical of Chopper's length is fair but it honestly doesn't bother me in the least as nearly every verse bangs, the hook is great and it might be the best beat on the album.

Prisoner has 2 different beats to. shyt is fire. Chopper the only song that needed to be scaled down.

Little Death is one of my favorite songs of all fukking time. Just flawless verses. The Gotdamn evolving hooks. In my opinion it's a perfect song. I literally cannot just listen to it once. I've always ran it back at least once.

Body of Work, Dots & Lines, Little Death, and Adoration of The Magi are the most layered and difficult to break down songs on this album IMO. Everything else is lyrically impressive and deep but more accessible with fewer listens. Even Mural, which has a lot of abstract, niche, and obscure references, is just a song about him being better at rapping than everyone else, so at least the theme is understood right off the bat while you then fill in the blanks.

The fact that Lupe is probably never going to actually break these down or discuss any of it even a little is infuriating .
