its safe to say that Lupe's last 3 albums collectively is the best body of work put out in the last 10 years. The quality, the substance, the lyricism, the production, the song concepts...no one is even coming close. I have to say Lupe is the best mainstream rapper alive.

name one artist who has dropped at least 3 albums/mixtapes in the last 10 years that are better than lupe's when it comes to substance, quality, lyricism, production, song concepts and replayablility.
You didn't say that in your last post though. You said his last 3 albums, which excludes his 1st 2...

Lu :wow:

I'm sure this has been said, but this is his Stillmatic, amazing comeback. Every aspect of this album is pretty amazing: great lyrics, great beats, great hooks, great concept. I think i've listened 7-8 times, and still look forward to listening to it again, so I can catch more gems :banderas:

The beat to Adoration of the Magi :ohlawd:

BTW, what is Lost in the Atlantic (dope title)? Is it a mixtape with all the left over songs (Haile Selassie, Old School Love)?

Not quite finished with my first listen. I'm on TRON. Only beats that really immediately grabbed my attention was Mural and Little Death. Not sure where all the praise for the amazing production is coming from, but I'll listen a few more times and let it marinate.
Lu is bodying shyt left and right. Amazing wordplay left and right.
Flow crazy at times. Not picking up much in the way of themes outside of what I've read here. But that will probably come with repeat listens.

Seems that most of the thread is over the top hyperbole and that @Billy Ocean was right all along. But I'll give a few more listens and see what I think.

The 3-track EP Lupe put out when Tetsuo & Youth didn't have a release date. He dropped a new song off of it once a week. All 3 songs are great and had peopel greatly anticipating Tetsuo & Youth on some "If these are the give away/scrapped songs" then how good is the album gonna be?" shyt.

Food & Liquor 2 is not a bad album at all.

Around My Way? Form Follows Function? Put Em' Up? Lamborghini Angels? ITAL? Strange Fruition? Hood Now?

Come on now breh. It had it's flaws but too many good songs to just dismiss.

Even Lasers had Letting Go and All Black Everything.
F&L II ain't a bad album but it ain't that great either.
All the beats were too mid tempo on it. Strange Fruition was the GOAT Lupe album opener tho. It definitely has some standouts but very few are going into the "Lupe Fiasco classics" category. Lupe's delivery sounded :snooze: on a lot of joints. It just doesn't come together as a full body of work like F&L, TC, and T&Y. Lasers had a couple gems, but the majority of the album was too sweet.

Even Letting Go was a lil too poppy for my taste. :scusthov: Lupe's performance on Lasers was great for the most part tho
