Body Of Work = Body Of Christ? ( it has the line, Molly In The Body Of Christ too...)

"Anatomy will be the death of me" as in Christ/God demise was caused by being placed in the physical form?

It also alludes to the notion that life has a way of ruining things that are beautiful.

He did say that Tetsuo sounded "cool", so to Lupe, Tetsuo=Cool=Death? (MYH, reincarnation etc)

Death and Youth? Kinda like how christ was doomed to death the moment he was born, so too do the youth in the hood? They never seem to make it pasting adulthood, before they either die or get locked up...and their spirit is reborn in the youth who will go through the same cycle???

You should be in cuffs like us, you should get strike 2

Don't do it breh. Just act like them shyts don't exist. Especially Lasers.
Those 2 albums contain the most unforgivably softest ass records in Lu's catalog :scusthov: with some gems sprinkled in.

F&L 2 got a few terrible songs, but take them shyts out and you got a solid album. There are some very dope tracks on that album. Lamborghini Angels was my shyt, all three of Lupe's verses were so vivid.

Lasers is just all out terrible to me for the most part . They shouldn't be grouped together imo

I like this album so much i'm now kinda curious to hear Lasers & FL2.

Also may revisit The Cool. Never heard this mystical Food & Liquor advance either.

The main difference i'm hearing on this is Lupe is rapping tougher. Like he still has the pipsqueak voice but he sounds harder for some reason.

:russ:

Y'all who say dots & lines isn't about signing to record labels and Lupe's relationship with Atlantic records are bugging for the record.

Food & Liquor 2 is not a bad album at all.

Around My Way? Form Follows Function? Put Em' Up? Lamborghini Angels? ITAL? Strange Fruition? Hood Now?

Come on now breh. It had it's flaws but too many good songs to just dismiss.

Even Lasers had Letting Go and All Black Everything.

@Heelish here are what I consider to be some of the best projects and records since the Cool. I'll pick my favorite songs from the two album that came in between The Cool and Tetsuo & Youth - Lasers and Food & Liquor 2. I'll try and go in order.

Enemy of the State (his 4th mixtape) - Mad short. He rapped over all the most popular beats at the time.

Lasers (3rd album) - His most personal album. Everyone hates it. It's not as awful as people make it seem, but it's not very good either. Definitely the low point of his career, but some gems are present. It has strong lyrics throughout, but the production are hooks are both really bad. Best songs - Letting Go, Till I Get There, Coming up, All Black Everything.

Friend of The People - sequel to EOTN. Much longer than it , and Lu rhymes over random EDM beats rather than hip hop beats. Some of the best rapping of his career is on this album, and some of the best concept records. Double Burger with Cheese will put a smile on your face i you grew up watching black movies like Juicy and Menace to Society. WWJD He'd Prolly LOL like WTF is one of his best songs ever. Joaquin hoenix is him on his I'm better than everyone else" shyt, and so is SLR and Super Cold. If you give the production a chance you will love it. his most underappreciated project because it comes right after Lasers and everyone was on team #LupeSucks lol.

Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album - Also under appreciated not only for coming after Lasers, but because while it is far better than Lasers, it can't touch the first Food & Liquor or The Cool. Has some dated production on some tracks, but at least it's hip hop rather than that eurodance garbage on Lasers. Standouts IMO are Strange Fruition, ITAL, Around My Way, Maborghini Angels, Put Em Up, Form Follows Function, Hood Now.

Lost in The Atlantic - The 3-track EP Lupe put out when Tetsuo & Youth didn't have a release date. He dropped a new song off of it once a week. All 3 songs are great and had peopel greatly anticipating Tetsuo & Youth on some "If these are the give away/scrapped songs" then how good is the album gonna be?" shyt. Ignore "Pu$$y". don't know why dude put it on there. It's not a part of the EP. Lupe got busy over that goofy ass beat and hook though.

Random great songs/freestyles/features not on any album or mixtape.

SLR 2 (Kendrick Lamar response)

SLR 3 (another response)

yeah i had Letting go, Break the Chains and Words I never Said off lasers on repeat for weeks. Forgot that album had The Show Goes On and All Black Everything also. 5 great songs that i like, i don't get why people act like the whole album was just straight trash. Food and Liquor 2 is a masterpiece also

its safe to say that Lupe's last 3 albums collectively is the best body of work put out in the last 10 years. The quality, the substance, the lyricism, the production, the song concepts...no one is even coming close. I have to say Lupe is the best mainstream rapper alive.
