The hook for Dots and Lines basically sounds like he's talking to unsigned artists and to children. Children not to follow the wrong path. Unsigned artists not to sign.

Look like how ima be -after this album, he's off Atlantic and a free agent

And in reference to children, he's essentially saying he will become free as children are and being able to create his own path towards a better life. Like a new beginning for him.

Also works with the references to his childhood in Mural, the children at play during the Summer interlude and of course the album title.

:dwillhuh:360 deals? I've listened to this just to see if you are right and the song doesn't allude to this at all. The "don't sign" threw you off. It's "don't sine" as in sine wave:

The song's just about Sacred Geometry from what I can tell:yeshrug:
The dualities... Beautiful Mind Lu:banderas:

It's a play on words. Sine/Sign...

The 2nd verse describes how majors use artists to keep going... essentially saying, it's the artist that makes things go, not the label. (Big Worlds = Labels; Little Worlds = Artist)

See big worlds have little worlds that feed on their velocity
And little world have lesser worlds and so on to viscosity

He goes even further in the last verse with this line...

To make gold from garbage is not the alchemical point of this math
But truth be told it's the pursuit of gold that turns the goal of men into trash
The soul's gold and they turning gold into cash

That to me is him saying, labels always looking for hits, and will promote "trash" in order to get it. That then makes artists go and reach and try and make hits that aren't really true to their artistry. That song is definitely him shytting on the traditional record deal/label structure. There are references throughout the song. He just tied it all in with the "Sacred Geometry" theme he was going for.

I believe that it under shipped. There's a lot of proof pics on Twitter and of you watch the interviews he did this wasn't even supposed to come out until Anonymous. No promo and the deliver video looked like something any of us could record.

With that being said..fukk sales. The man himself said he expected it and didn't care.
I was really disappointed in that on Tuesday. I'm sitting in Target literally like, :what:

"How yal sell out of a new release before 1 PM on it's release date"

They were still stocking up too, and there was an employee who was putting up all the new releases... Lupe's was already sold out. I asked dude like, "so do yal have any of these?" He looked up the sku number and told me that they were all gone.

:wtf:

shyt crazy

I listened to this album for the last two days hoping that something would click by the third or fourth listen.

But I just wasn't feeling it. As a Lupe fan, I'll admit that hi ear for beats has dramatically improved.... and he's still damn near the best rapper alive (best rapper of this type of metaphor/simile/entendre heavy rap, without a doubt......

but it just wasn't clicking for me.

Gave it 3.75/5 after 3 listens.

:patrice:I still don't think he's talking about labels at all in those lines.

Big/little worlds is referring to dimensions or states of conciousness. Velocity, planets, sine refers to sound. bAlchemists creating gold refers to turning away from the spiritual pursuit of alchemy vs the material pursuits of man. All of this is a part of sacred geometry.

Son, what you're saying is true but each song has more than one meaning like the other posters have said.

The album is 78 minutes long already though.

He blessed us with those leaks anyway, it's not like the classic songs that were on F&L Advance that weren't on F&L Retail
idk breh.. haile selassie is near the top of my most listened tracks ever on my pc.

love that song

and mazinger fits the album more than some of the songs on it

I played the hell out of those songs as well, I'm just saying there is enough greatness and content on the album that I'm ok with those not being on there.

Next 2 It is another dope song that didn't make it. Wouldn't of fit though
