everything he's saying is spot on. i think the problem is that on the lyrical side, kendrick is probably a little underrated now (the same way the kendrick nuthuggers overrate the contextual meaning of every single line he utters, because of how gifted he is as a narrator).
kendrick can dumb it down and be more straight-ahead lyrically. he's done it. i dont think it will ever be his strongest skill. but it's there.
the same way lupe proved he could make accessible mainstream music with effective, impactful messages layered into the content... but decided he wanted to be hip hop's version of john nash instead.

No Lupe hates the fact that Kendrick made it mainstream while still being a lyrical rapper and kind of stealing his spot as the concept album guy. If Drake wasn't beefing with Kendrick, Lupe would fukking hate him. Drake doesn't write his own music, he perpetually online, stands for nothing politically.
But since Lupe views Kendrick as an enemy for simply doing what he never could, he's aligned with Drake.
