Even as a fan, I'm gonna be glad when this dude is done with Atlantic and then has nothing to cover his ass when it comes to his music, whether it's the sound, the lyrics or whatever else.
uhh if it's not a sequel to F&L then it shouldn't be marketed like it is. Calling it "The Great American Rap Album" would've been fine.
When I heard this would be F&LII I assumed it was Lupe going back to that style and sound. And it's not.
It doesn't mean the album will be bad or anything. It just sucks to see him jerking around his very loyal fanbase like this.
Both series got progressively worse right? Or, at least in BP's case, they don't touch the originalSo what's the difference between this move and The Blueprint or Carter series?
You make a good point, and yeah they do definitely all sound different. I'm just saying calling it "The Great American Rap Album" and that alone would've been a much more honest move.
Wtf you mean, you expected this album to sound like Food & Liquor (which is already dated as fukk with some songs) after hearing bytch Bad, Lambo Angels, Around My Way, etc. ? Not every rapper likes to make the same album twice
And I don't feel the least bit "jerked" by him saying this.

even if he changed the name what would make it actual sequel to food and liquor this aint no damn movie series , what you expected a part 2 of every song on the album or some shyt .
That's not what i thought, what i thought when i heard part 2 was we would see the progression of Lupe Fiasco as a artist, that he would touch on some of the same subject as Food and liquor but at a much broader perspective( which it is)
shyt's called The Great American Rap Album for a reason

you reaching now fam, lupe went on to explain to you after the bold why it's called part 2 which makes sense.I just was expecting with a title would come a similar sound bruh.
OK how long is he going to play the "label politics" card until he actually releases what he "wants"
nikka you think the label would have released bytch bad, AMW and Lamborghini angels as singles , and from what it sounds FFF aint no damn commerical song either. This is clearly Lupe MARKETING his album idiot, he himself have said part 1 has more of a concept then part 2 which is more in his terms "rappity rap"OK how long is he going to play the "label politics" card until he actually releases what he "wants"
There was not a concept, there was a certain sound to the album. It would be a problem if this was a follow up to The Cool and he said this, not F&L.
There is no major concept for that album, just a bunch of songs.

The difference in the sound of The Carter series is very noticeable. Artists like Curren$y that did sequels could have easily named their follow ups something else. Plenty of artists do this for the exact same reason. They just don't say it.There was not a concept, there was a certain sound to the album.
Like Chronic didn't have a concept, it had the g-funk sound. And when Chronic 2001 was dropping people were not expecting a g-funk album, they were expecting a west coast classic with Dr. Dre and his nikkas joking around and having fun talking about bytches, weed, lowriders with some new type of production that could match the original album but sound like some futuristic shyt but still west coast classic. And that's what he delivered.
I can only speak for myself but I was expecting the same thing here, him soundtrakk and them going in the booth coming up with a new sound to match the sound of the first album. Him covering mad specific but random topics with a bunch of structured concept tracks like the first album, covering some of the same topics but in a updated fashion since a lot has happened in these past 7-8 years since he started recording the first album. Well he might still do that, if him changing the title isn't just double marketing trick. Like it actually being created as F&L2 but changing it just to get people to talk about his trolling ass.
But he's already said he doesn't listen to hiphop and will have dance music production on this album, so I'm expecting mediocrity hoping for greatness.
I fukking hope that like last time, the singles aren't the best tracks on the album.
