I disagree. It's better that it's recent. Now that everything is so watered down, he's doing an authentic freestyle as a change of pace to the fake shyt that's out now. I respect him more because of it.

Remember Lupe was doing his thing. Sure Jay executive produced food and liquor and Kanye had him on touch the sky but he came in the game on his own and was never someone's lil homie, or lil brother. So when he was doing his thing and the label was like 'rap some pop shyt for radio play' he had to do what he had to do but quickly said fukk that noise and fulfilled his contract and did his own thing on his own two feet unlike many artist who stayed signed or stayed shelved and years later were like "but but but the label wouldn't let me do what I wanted to do that's why y'all never saw me shine".
