I can't put him higher because he doesn't really have mass appeal. He definitely is an acquired taste; pause...I actually didn't like him at first because I thought he was like the other backpacker brigades that came before him that were so adamant about being different and not "mainstream" that they came off weird. But Lupe has bars that operate on levels that no one else even has, maybe Jay when he's tryna be in his bag.
He had a couple of songs that broke top 10, but you could tell they weren't "his" songs. I think one track they tried to give him went to B.O.B. or something meant for B.O.B. went to him.
