Yeah it isn’t a song about Nas per se but under the surface it’s a little homage to him.

It’s very reminiscent of that 90’s mellow East coast multi syllable rhyme Nas sound

Lupe is the king of layering ideas. Really no one does it better than him. Haven’t listened to to snippet but wouldn’t be surprised if it somehow managed to be both and neither at the same time. Don’t ask me how.
