I wasn't aware he did many features. Whatever was good I'm trying to hear though. I tuned a lot of his work out over the last few years.
I don't blame you. Its been hit or miss with this nikka since he's been experimenting a lot lately.

He also had a couple decent tracks on FOTP but overall the tape was underwhelming.

I agree, Lupe is judged to a higher standard... BUT HE SHOULD BE

I listen to a lot of hip hop, and I've never been blown away like the first time I heard Fahrenheit 1/15 Parts 1 and 2... the shyt he was spittin on Failure, Where I'm From, Ooh, Handcuffs, Twilight Zone, Champ Is Here, Lupe The Killer, Dead Presidents freestyle, etc. were so far beyond anything I had heard from a new comer to that point in terms of flow, concepts, straight bars, and ESPECIALLY the wordplay... sky is the limit for Lupe, when he's motivated to actually rap and spit bars, no one is fukkin with him

watching Lupe put out shyt like this is equivalent to watching Lebron settle for jumpers knowing that he's the most unstoppable force in the league when he's aggressive and goes to the hole... I almost feel like I want dude to put out good music more than HE does, I guess the desire just isn't there anymore

Finaly ,someone else who knows how I feel. The shyt he was spittin on those mixtapes were crazy..I don't know what the hell happen to him...oh yeah I do...he started tryin to apeal
to the white folk...no offense to the white folk here lol

I notice after one of my fave rappers throw a white girl/guy on a track for pop apeal, they start to get wack to me

Word!

Back when Fahrenheit 1 & 2 dropped, man.. Lu had the Internet ON LOCK.

nikkas was calling him the next Nas, the next Jay, man.. This nikka buzz was crazy at that point. Those that know what he is capable of will always judge him by a higher standard

I mean you don't expect a Lil B to put out an It Aint Hard To Tell. Dead Presidents, One Mic, Hard Knock Life

But when Nas dropped black girl lost 2 even his stans called it garbage

This just sounds way too forced and lazy..
Lu is one of the most talented mc's in the game but it's like he doesn't care..

Things done changed man..:sadcam:

He went in on every single song. The beats were not good.

But, dont we listen to Lupe for lyrics? You couldnt have asked for more in that department.
I listen to Lupe because he makes good music. Yea he's a good lyricist, but beat selection is just as important imo.

SNDCLSH In Vegas, WWJD WTF, and Lupe Back are songs that have beats that make you not want to listen again.

And lets not forget that 2 of the standout songs on that mixtape had been released months before he even announced it :comeon:

This is just another example of why these new untested rappers shouldn't be mentioned along side the legends of the game. In 10-15 years, if they've been consistent, sure....but Lupe was "the new Nas!" after 1 album, I told people "nah, chill, let's see where he is in 5-6 years"....and he's been ass for a while now.

Has Lupe ever said anything profound? He's just clever; nothing more, nothing less.

lupe is as wack and clever,..
as black thought, stealing i used to love for three to four albums straight.

nikka not fooling nobody real,...

i know lupe was even really scared to go to open mics, from his own producer, too.

nikkaz are toys,.......

excuse my ignorance and lack of knowledge for the culture, but could you post some work of this slug guy you are referring to? never heard of em - :manny:

all you need is;

primer : hidden track at the end of overcast.
scapegoat : best gateway song and single for him ever. even dmx bit the rhyme structure and content like patterns for his single on flesh of my flesh.
----——
god's bathroom floor
woman wih the tatto'd hands
—-—
these two records are acquired taste. yet are the blueprint biting wise used for jay's meet the parents.

then if you wanna fukk with shyt after that it is on you.

as emo is sure fire pop rap alternative music with white superiority complex fans, like rock did blues.

which slug was drug into,...and championed unbeknownest to him and he is a prisoner of.

i left underground rap because i wasn't about to be pigeoned holed by no emo fans....

[who diss ll, but ll probably did the first emo like record on wwap on fast peg and 14 shots to the dome]

with no real cultural history talkin a bunch of bullshyt,...taking my music outta context and trying to flip amd bounce it on some bullshyt. by some toy fans in general looking for a gateway and not trying to do the culture right. on top of a bunch of sellout black women who feel ostracized.

all because they lack knowledge of self and sellout their race. listening to that offbrand vibe of a bunch of toys, who unactualized culturally.

who taking shyt outta context,...cause they don't wanna learn hiphop history or get some real skills.

while hating for off brand goof nonsensical reasons that don't make sense. then tryin gto deflect those offbrand issues like they know the culture.

while masquerading as some toys.

yet and still, i know the whole demo....
as i was there and been there before they ever sprung up....
